Welcome to the fields of the Donkey Days centre, where donkeys from all
backgrounds come for rehoming. You are more than welcome to apply for
any of our donkeys to take home with you. You can even try and enter them
into our various fun shows and challenges, granted you can get past their
stubbornness first!

There's always a large variety of colours and patterns of donkeys here. Naturally, the most common colours are brown, dun, white and black. These donkeys will occasionally sport your regular equine patterns such as tobiano, overo and splash. But you will often see more donkey specific markings and colours which will be listed and explained below.

IVORY
Ivory displays a white or cream coat with blue eyes and pink skin. You will often see mottled or speckled around their eyes and nose.

SPOTTING
Spotting generally displays large spots of colour around the donkey's ears, eyes, topline and shoulders. These spots typically do not cause blue eyes, but it has been seen. Minimal forms of spotting are seen as blazes and socks. Stars and other small markings on a donkey’s face may not be considered spotting.

FROSTING
Frosting is a type of roan, which progressively whitens the donkey's coat. In some cases this can completely whiten the coat, but more often than not just causes roaned patches and markings. The skin around the donkey's eyes with the frosted gene will be dark, not pink.




- The donkeys here have been ranging from 11hh to 14hh. We have not seen any shorter or taller donkeys.
- Male donkeys are called Jacks, female donkeys are called Jennys and young donkeys are called foals.
- We advise each donkey to live with a buddy or even better, in a herd. They are incredibly social.
- We require you to have a registered storage page in order to breed or show you donkeys. This can just be linked when required.
