I suppose I've been comparing my tree drawings to my sisters art. She draws realism and is infinitely better at drawing trees. Its always been the leaves that I struggle with. This technique i tried seems to work alright for sketches, although i'm not sure if I have a long enough attention span.

I always have trouble with trees. The trick is knowing what to leave out in drawing trees. Its very easy to want to sit down and draw every leaf ahaha

Ahah yeah I've tried to do that before! It seems a good idea at first, but ends up being a terrible idea halfway into the drawing.
