hekus are curious little beasts with a high intelligence and an internal society of their own. they inhabit an huge underground system of caves and tunnels in which each makes their home, deep under dark sand and miles of golden expanse. every heku has a third eye; this is the source of their magic. heir third eye cannot see, but the population often depicts it as very important and many parts of their culture revolve around the third eye.
