Magic Critters

Hi, I had the sudden urge to create a closed species so here we are with magic critters (name pending, wanna come up with something good)

What defines 'magic critters'
-flowers/plants
-runes (typically glowing)
-insects

some quick information
Magic critters are effected by their environment and the seasons as they grow and develop, absorbing the magical energies store in the foods they eat. The magical energies stores can effect their offspring and how they grow.
Examples!

winter- winter critters might have snow or ice on them along with some withered plants
spring- spring critters might be covered in flowers or water
summer- summer critters might have much more vibrant colors
fall- fall critters might be growing/bearing fruit, they would also have more decayed plants.

what kind of critters might you encounter?
-snails/slugs (basic)
-butterflies/moths (summer/spring-winter/fall variation)
-dragonflies (winter exclusive)
-beetles (spring/fall exclusive)
-spiders (fall exclusive)

I want to be able to have a variation of critters that you can collect through all of the seasons year round. I have 3 options that I can do pertaining to this!

1. Have the seasons scheduled around the actual year (and include species changing tickets)
2. Change seasons every month
3. No seasons, just have all of the bugs constantly available

Next, I would like to talk about art!

I am uncertain whether or not I want to have special rarities or not or just have every bug be equal with different traits.
Here are the outcomes!

1. Special rarities- full lineart, color, reference sheet, etc. Best option if I am working alone
2. Pixel pets- No rarities, much simpler. Less creativity

At the moment I am leaning towards option 1.

Let me know if you have any questions! <3
