Orignally, I was looking for cave-man laugange and found 'kuno' (used by Archaeo-cinemalinguistic researchers) means volcano. It is also derived from Germanic kuni "clan, family", but also a short form of Konrad, meaning "brave counsel"- which I think is also pretty rad.

name meaning/inspiration: I think he looks really tough and vicious with his dark markings. He'd definitely be a formidable adversary, just like a velociraptor would, and his stripes going down his flanks almost look like scars a dinosaur might inflict!

name meaning/inspiration: when I saw this zebra I don't know why it immediately made me think of the old dark and knotty wood of boats, and its stripes of marks left by the reefs on their sides.
I hear the creaking of boards and the rolling of waves from here, it's awfully specific but it definitely has a piracy or navi vibe to me.

Eustache was a famous French pirate in the Middle Ages, he served the English and French crown, he was also nicknamed "black monk" (moine noir), he was a monk before his pirate carreer. People believed he used magic to sail his ship because he was very talented.
