I really do be making a mini grass tutorial like every year lmao
this time I wanted to try explaining it a bit differently
first off, I just used a basic round brush for the tutorial example. specifically, a round pencil brush with opacity pressure turned off
the example on the top right was drawn with a square brush that had opacity pressure
step explanation:
1. start with your base color. I recommend something middle value range
2. draw in your lighting. to keep things simple, all I did was add a color that was darker and lighter than the base color.
3. rough up them edges. the concept is actually pretty similar to dithering in pixel art, basically take one of the colors, and at the edge where it meets another color, draw it into that color. do this for every edge where two colors meet
4. idk how to explain this other than just use the color picker/eyedropper to take a color and then draw some grass strokes on top
5. adding leafy shapes and some vague ambiguous flower shapes is an easy way to add pops of color and some pizzazz to your grass
boy do I hope this makes sense and is helpful
