Briscoti was in the forest, guided by the moonlight as he took his weekly stroll. The forest was loud despite the time, the owls hooting and the soft crunch of the twigs and grass underneath the woodland creatures. His attention on his thoughts as he continued walking, until the moon suddenly fell behind a dark cloud. The forest was dark, and as Briscoti was ripped from his thoughts he spotted a light in the distance. Nobody ventured as far into the forest as he did at this late at night so curiosity overtook him. He frowned lightly as he treaded around a thick tree before coming face to face with a deer. Not just any deer, it seemed to be covered in bioluminecent blue spots, from his forehead to his tail which was a thick line running to a large clump of feathers suited more to a bird. He took a step back as he saw the creatures face, his horns were like branches to a tree, blood dripping from them as they moved with the wind, blowing the gruesome liquid over the creatures thin body. It had noticed him, it's eyes were the brightest blue he had ever seen, piercing through him as if he had died before even being touched. His face much lime a deers, yet its muzzle covered in mass amounts of blood. His eyes caught its legs, they were thick and long, made for hunting down prey, their hooves sharp to impale their prey. A deep rumbling sound. Biscoti looked up at it as it growled, fear evident in his eyes as he backed away slowly, the deer had opened his mouth, two large canines could be seen, but when he thought it was done it continued opening, ripping apart the skin on its cheek, running until the top of its neck, bones, tissue exposed, but along with it teeth, teeth as sharp as a knife ran over every surface, and even down his throat. Flesh hung between the ripped skin, the muscles moving between the bones and teeth as if it was natural. His eyes widened and he sprinted, he didn't look back until he could see the moonlight again, he looked back and the luminescence had disappeared, suddenly aware of how dark the night was, and what other creatures could be hiding, he ran home, vowing to never stray far at night ever again.

(I hope you don't mind- I kinda went over by a little, I got caught up in the moment... ^^ I also drew the creature!)

The charming was lucky that his dark fur coat was indistinguishable from the darkness. With every breath that he takes, he uses it to power his muscles as he leaps deeper into the darkness. There was an ominous shadow tracking him and he knew deep in his bones that he must escape.

Through the forest he ran. Over fallen logs and under branches that seemed to claw at him.

He stopped by a tree to take a few breaths. There was a rustle of branches to his left. Only a rabbit rushed out.

But what was the rabbit running from? The shadow pursing him rushed from the brush and forced him to keep running.

The faint ray of moonlight glinted at a cave that he could hide in until the creature following him passed by.

He could hear their footsteps pass by the cave. Safe, for now.

That was until his fur raised on its ends and a scream emanated from the darkness. He couldn’t help but let out a short scream before muffling it.

Lights started to flicked alive as he saw a charming block them mouth of the cave.

“Gotcha” said the charming with a cord of light wrapped around their body.

“Sometimes when you scream into the void, the void is frightened enough into screaming back”. Thornley let apprehended the charming and stole back the treasure that was so rightfully his.

The dark? Every charming knew of it. Every creature knew of it. But did they really know it, like he did? Chance doubted it. Ever since he had been a pup, he had been 'blessed' with the gift to see what others could not in the dark. There was a lot that hid, creatures that were only known to myths and legends, ghosts, werewolves, vampires... it was all real. And here's the thing. When you can see into the dark... they know. They all knew he knew.

Some embraced the company, a listening ear. Some creatures were friendly, and taught him how to survive with his strange sense. Some taught him how to use it to benefit for himself. But for every good soul he met, there was balance. There were the ones who wanted his form for their own, his soul to swallow. Creatures that gave him nightmares, creatures that ensured he walked with caution in his step.

You respected the dark, lest you be swallowed by it.

When he started, there were others. Now he was alone. The creatures of the darkness were always hungry, and he knew some day they would try again to come for him. He would have to be ready. Was he afraid of the dark? Of course he was.

...He would be a fool not to be.

I really liked both entries, hhh

bunny, I liked your idea of the charming being the predator! The fierce persecution and the tense moment, were just so good. Suspense all around!

But alas, there must be a winner, and that one is, Griff!

The idea of him being haunted by any manner of creatures, being the last one of with his kind of power, and being so terribly scared and even so still getting help with his 'blessing' from the same creatures that terrify him. (Even if they're nice, lol) it all really called to me! Hope you enjoy your new charming!
