Range Trotters are the result of crossbreeding Orlov Trotters, Finnhorses, Welsh Cobs (section C & D) and Hanoverians. Later crosses of Quarter Horses, Paint and Appaloosas to gain color and to give a boost to their hardiness.With a height average of 13-15 hands, they're a hardy breed with characteristics for various disciplines.

Created for use as work, carriage and leisure riding horses originally, they now serve as long-distance range horses, such as work with Park Rangers and mounted officers.

Willing and eager personalities, most are quickly trained to be bombproof and therefore trusted mounts in all lines of work; some are being seen in local show jumping competitions, others are notably used in therapeutic sessions for their calm temperaments. Harness races and endurance trials are common for the breed, as they are able to sustain an extended trot without tire. Cross-Country competitions see some of the taller Trotters, but due to their cob lineage this is still uncommon.

Despite the variety of competitions and work these horses are being seen in, they are still famously skilled as endurance racers. Many competitors have chosen Range Trotters due to their tireless work ethic, as well as the ease in which they can be trained. Many have become champions in endurance trials, and they have quickly become a sought after breed for their natural ability.

1: I love love love how active, friendly, and welcoming the community is!! In addition to that, I really love how new markings are introduced via events and that there are plenty of competition adopts alongside the absolutely stunning auction adopts<3
2: I've grown to love so many!! I think my #1 is the Dun Brindle, then giraffe and then butterfly spots!
3: So my favorite is probably the first I ever got, Dandy. I just love her markings and coat combination! I have also been in love with this doll since I joined recently! The giraffe spots are some of my favorite and this lighter one reminds me of a book I read as a kid called The White Giraffe which I LOVED! The third one is this babe, I just really love how bright and cheery she makes me feel just lookin at her!
4: I wasn't there for it, unfortunately, but I really adore a lot of the Mesozoic markings and horses from that event! I'm really loving the goth event too and can't wait to take part in more!
5: So, I'm super super looking forward to making some good close friends in this community, doing some breedings together, maybe making some cannon relationships And just overall getting my barn all filled up with some beautiful babies and being able to develop them! I LOVE writing short fiction and honestly can't wait to start writing about their lives and outtings <3

• Because I am having THE hardest time picking out single people, this one is for everyone in the community; let me tell you that Trotters would definitely not be what it is without each and every one of you all! 1: It's so hard just to pick just one thing but I've gotta say that I love how loving and welcoming this community is, we seem to have the best community on CS dare I say, drama free and everyone is so kind and welcoming to others, people are so generous with horses and slots. I'm always impressed and happy with just how nice it feels here. 2: My favorite marking is by far Chaetodon, I'm such a sucker for gold stripes due to the Japanese art of Kintsugi, which is to repair scars and broken things with gold <3

My Tempo was the first Trotter I ever got and she was a RU from Charlie, and I credit Tempo largely with being what really pulled me into this species! She is a very special lady to me in that aspect

4: My favorite event was the Mesozoic event, it was the first event I was around for and so cool! There was so much opportunity to win Trotters and to win things that make said Trotters really unique, and spicing up your horses and really making them your own is what I'm here for 100%
5: I'm already looking forward to whatever our Halloween event will be!! As your resident horror expert I'm always thrilled and over the moon for anything and everything Halloween! What Hooves did last year was also awesome and I can't wait to see what's coming this year

To Charlie/Doctor Strange: You made my first ever Trotter as I mentioned above and it was an act that I think of literally all the time because of how meaningful this community has become to me, even though it was just another walk through the park for you, it had a huge impact on me and what I've become. I've made so many friends and joined an awesome team where I feel safe and welcome, and it was all because of me getting feverishly obsessed with designs of yours, and I'm much better off mentally for it. 1: The active community is definitely my biggest draw to trotters. Everyone is downright amazing and kind and so lovely to talk to. The welcoming feeling and safe space to interact and be ourselves with each other as if you've known them all your life is incredibly special and I don't think I've ever gotten to experience that with any other species.
2: I think at this point everyone knows but holy cow I LOVE drizzles so much. I know it isnt a super favored marking for most folks but it's just such a fun and unique little thing that I adore. Butterflies have my heart as well <3
3: This took ages to decide on you have no idea. First place definitely goes to Macc designed by coaliev, as he was my first drizzle boy and I just adore him so much for it. Second goes to Oujia, because I just connect with her so strongly. Trottersona vibes haha. Third would have to be Rummy designed by HowlingHooves. I was going through a really rough time and Hooves jumped at making this precious birthday gift for me to lift up my spirits and he will always hold a special place in my heart just due to the kindness and support he represents <3
4: I have not been around for most of the events, but of what I've experienced so far the Goth event absolutely has my heart. Super fun and everyone seems so thrilled with it.

1: I'm going to gush about the community in a bit so I will say the creativity! Our artists are all incredibly talented people, I am constantly amazed by the new ideas and designs that are made. I know I've said something to the tune of "Oh my gosh it's like you read my mind!" or "Holy cow this is more amazing than I could have imagined!" to many artists whenever I get customs. Not only that, the creativity of the community is amazing! It's a real competition out here to get adopts sometimes because we have so many brilliant writers and artists applying for adopts! (I wouldn't have it any other way ofc. <3)

2: Some of my favorites are Irish Tobiano, herrera bands, all the spots (moon, paleo, dapples, appy...), springbok, oryx, and demoiselle grey!

3: Oof this is so hard because I adore all my trotters and the love that went into making them! Okay, here are some of my favorite children: (1) Felicity created by the amazing Idem, I'm so thrilled to share our love of TAZ and D&D together! (2) Max made by the wonderful paradise, who made my first limited marking trotter look ridiculously incredible. (3) I have to cheat a little because these two are a pair, but Frank and Fay made by the brilliant ShadyBro who captured my favorite movie into two incredible trotters!

4: The current goth event is rocking my freakin' socks off!! It's not a phase mom!

5: I'd love to get an import from every artist eventually! I also want to see how many generations I can breed from my very first trotter to see how each generation changes!

1: Everyone has said true things so far, I want to add that Range Trotters are a fantastic community, the best I´ve ever had the honor to be a part of. The staff team is like an online family, always there for advice, to lend a shoulder when someone is sad, hyped about new members joining. This team never fails to make me laugh and I am so, so grateful to be a part of that. Collecting those pixel ponies became one, if not the favorite thing to do for me and whenever I get to win one it makes my day. I wish my english skills were better so I could participate in more prompts and conversations... But even just reading what you guys talk about makes me incredibly happy <3 Love you all dearly, although we never met irl and I hope from the dephts of my heart that RT will last very many years and eventually hit 100k adopts in like a decade lol

2: Hard to choose... For naturals, I´ve always loved Tobiano, Roan and Blanket Appy. But I remember, the first marking in this species I fell in love with was Chaetodon. Obviously, with all the markings added until now, there are a bunch of more favorites. Giraffe ranks very high, if not place 1 for various reasons (one being giraffes holding a very special, dear place in my heart). Ringed Snake is definitely number 2. Surprisingly, I used to hate bunder but now it is among my favorites too!

3: Choosing only 3 is almost cruel, but I very much know who takes place 1 by far! My boy Plaste! I fought very hard for this guy and not gonna lie, spend a bunch sleepless nights because I was very hyperfixated at this Trotter. Probably not the healthiest, but it felt good to finally win a trotter I really want, because I often feel like no matter how much effort I put, it is never enought. Plaste represents not only a long lost friend, but also that fighting hard for something and putting lots of effort can enable anything!
The second Trotter is This guy from Owl_Roast. He was the first Trotter I saw and fell in love with, but didn´t have the courage to enter the comp. He did however inspire my first ever import, made by Hooves who I love dearly too, like probably everyone adores their first Trotter to pieces. Third place is a very recent one, based on a irl horse I have the honor to care for from now on <3 He is like a big puppy and I love this horse so very much. I feel so much better when I am taking a walk with him or brush him. Joe <3 It´s barely noticeable, but I shortened the mane and extended the tail slightly to match the irl reference a little more :3
But there are incredible many more Trotters on my dreamy list (which I actually have to create to keep track of all those beauties lol)

4: Although I really loved the Mesozoic event, the one I loved the most was the Biome event! It brought so many incredible new markings and was very much fun to participate and be a part of the creators behind the markings! I hope there will be many more amazing events like this in the future!

5: One thing I´m looking forward to is my personal sabino breeding project! Also all the coming events obviously and also just to be able to participate more in everything. Especially socialize more with everyone, it´s just hard to jump over my shadow but that will get better onc life gets less stressful <3 Oh, and I can´t wait for my first champion horse!

6: Where do I start... I feel like I owe everyone I interacted with so far a few nice words, so whoever isn´t mentioned but feels like we had a nice conversation before, you are meant too! I´m so grateful for everyone who takes time to deal with my crap, even when I come off as rude or annoying or whiny sometimes, it´s not my intention. Let´s begin with the honorable mentions:
- Doctor Strange: You are a very funny and nice person. You helped me so much especially in the beginning and are a huge part of this species! I always love reading new messages on the server from you as it is almost always something ridiculous/funny. You do so much for this species, creating pretty ponpons for the whole community in no time! It´s insane how fast you complete breedings and I bet a good quarter of foals ever created are from you lol. Also, you are a german buddy, always helping when my mind can´t think straight english xD

- HowlingHooves: Obviously, none of us would be here without momma hooves. The soul of this community, holding us together, scolding us when needed and watching over everything like a divine being. Thank you so, so much for letting me be a part of this wholesome community, it is my safe space and the best thing happening to me in a looong time (except my fiance maybe o.o but after him, by far the best thing!)

- sleepyDandy: A pretty new member of the community, still one of the people I had the most conversations with! You are an amazing person and it´s always nice to talk to you! You are also giving your very best to create Trotters for the community and engage in events etc! Love your motivation and dedication :3

For me, these three are beautifully done and deceptively complex. From a distance, they look rather simple, but once you get closer you see all of the little details that make these trotters stand out to me the most
4: My favorite event has been the biome event! I loved all of the really cool animal markings and I think real horses would be even more stunning if they actually could have leopard spots or arapaima markings
5: I only recently got started with competitions, so I am looking forward to celebrating my first champion someday!
