one thing about the design/gene interaction though - the merle would actually be on the points! since this is a reverse point it switches the eumelanin (black) and pheomelanin (red) areas, and merle dilutes eumalanin (black), so it would be swapped with what you have here.

oh! and one more thing that I missed - based on their genotype this kid would be an atypical harlequin! to get the current phenotype you’d need to change Hh to hh.
