Welcome to the Lone Bashkir Curly Valentine Festival! The time of year many members of the LBC community gather to celebrate Valentines Day with our yearly festival! Many have brought some fine and unique Curly's that are in need of a new home! There's so much in store for this festival, including some fun giveaways and raffles! Prompt: Every year around Valentines Day Bridgette seems to only be a shadow of her usual self. Even though she's a shy mare to begin with, she becomes totally withdrawn and wistful when February 14th rolls around. Unlike the other horses who spend the day frolicking with a special someone, Bridgette seems to disappear like a ghost. It's too hard for her to see others joy while she lost her first love when she was young.

As a filly, Bridgette grew up on a farm with a curly colt, Beau. They were born the same day, although Beau was a few hours older and he never let it go, and their mothers were best friends. The two were absolutely inseparable, they spent every waking hour together romping around causing minor mayhem. In the summers they chased butterflies, in the winter they caught snowflakes on their tongues. They told each other everything; every worry, every anxiety, every secret hope or dream. But as the two grew older, the only thing that Bridgette couldn't bring herself to tell Beau was how much she loved him, more than just a best friend.

Finally, in their third year together, Bridgette worked up the nerve and planned to confess her feelings for Beau on Valentines Day. She couldn't stand keeping this feeling inside any longer. But, by then it was too late. On the eve of Valentines Day a huge silver truck and trailer pulled into the barn's driveway. A few young men got out of the trailer, and Bridgette watched helplessly from the paddock as they took Beau out of his stall and loaded him into the trailer. Bridgette raced the trailer to the fence line, even contemplated trying to jump it at the last second, but at the last second she slammed on the breaks and slammed into the fence, nickering wildly for her love who was being ferried away.

Since then, Bridgette has never been the same, she could never imagine loving someone like her long lost Beau. Although she's made more friends, and the years have slowly marched on, she still finds herself daydreaming, gazing down the road, hoping to see another trailer bringing back her true love to her once again.
