Putting this into the animals/creatures forum since this isn't actually an official species atm, but just something I'm messing around with!
So yeah, that's basically all I've got right now! If anyone's interested in this becoming a full species please comment to let me know, or comment any questions you have about them! I'd also greatly appreciate any feedback and critique on the species, this is just a rough draft of them so I'm totally willing to change things up a bit to improve them.
Dreampuffs are a creature created from especially powerful dreams that can hop from their dimension to ours! They can only do this while their "host/creator" (the person whose dream they came from) is asleep, however. So most of their time is spent in their own dream-world dimension. Different Dreampuffs are made from different types of dreams. In order from most common to most rare, the types are: regular dreams, nightmares, and lucid dreams. Despite their nature, Nightmare Dreampuffs are NOT inherently bad or evil! They are simply the result of their host's dream.
Dreampuffs are not 100% tied to their host: once they are dreamt and created, they can basically go about their own business and appear to those they feel they would have a strong connection with. Due to this, even when their creator passes away, the Dreampuff continues to live.
A Dreampuff's "core" form is a fluffy, blob-y creature. They revert to this form when they are resting, injured, or when they've used up too much of their power in the "real" world. Dreampuffs are weak in this state, and cannot use their powers, and should never be in it in the waking world.
A regular, or fully powered dream puff has magical abilities. They can float whether or not they have wings, and create sparkles and illusions with their horns. They also have the power to comfort, Nightmare Puffs being especially good at this, as they allow the person to confront whatever it is that is stressing them out or scaring them.
