1/2 batpony 1/2 pegasus all sweet heart, Solene Augustine, the legally blind book librarian caretaker her sentient pea plant is called Trellis, makes eyedrop beads that are great for headaches an eyestrain and identifies ponies/give her a general sense of what's going on around her, it can move in a creeping plant motion and is very outgoing.
Solene was surrendered to the moon palace after her family was busted for using her star magic to predict the future, which Solene thinks costed her her sight. Since she cannot see things beyond a foot or two in front of her from young age she never learned to fly and her wings which she only stretches and exercises for a few hours each morning are slightly small for her size.
She enjoys singing or humming hymns while working, and is known amongst colleges for her incredible penmanship which was due to the nature of her job and her years practicing telekinesis on smaller/more delicate things. She likes listening to night sounds and Trellis rant about how nice the sunshine was or what the great silver oak told her, as well as decorating book covers and journaling. Taking care of Trellis is not considered a hobby but a lifestyle to Solene and if you ever visited her room you'd find large chests of mineral based plant food and several extravagantly decorated plant pots along the windows. She herself also wears a lot of shiny things, mostly to let people know that she is there/the temple pony with bad sight and partly to attract the birds that live outside the temple. Her hair is done when she has glasses on but there's not a pair in Paledon that can work around her second eyes so her perspective and the clarity of what she sees can be skewered resulting in stray hairs and a shaggy look.
She really enjoys cured meats of all sorts and has a note of all the best butchers in Paledon, she often goes with knights from the palace since she can't really follow a map and isn't allowed to go out unprotected because she knows too much. She has a good instinct for finding good quality items which may or may not be due to her star magic but it often leads to guards who may be looking for a good sword or new armor to hurriedly line up to escort her to the bazaar area.
Her hooves leave a small glowing hoof print, and form a seemingly random constellation but if you can read star it's most likely something or someone(?) telling her something (i'm a bit if-ish about this it could honestly be jumble I don't know yet). She has two sets of eyes and amazing vision in their original state. Currently she is afraid of her own power and suffers nightmares that plague her when {insert scenario here} and she thinks her powers took her sight away but it could just be her fear and restriction of her powers that are causing her ailment, I don't know but having a pair of eyes and seeing clearly out of both wouldn't work without
a lil magik.
Her job used to be transcribing damaged texts and repairing old book covers until she was observed to be able to leave the library way past 9 safely and unperturbed. She was then promptly moved to being the caretaker of the librarian who she appreciates as a fellow cured meat eating friend. Little do she know...
