It's not perfect..To me, the brown one is the male or the one with more authority, and the grey one is the younger one, of the one with less responsibility.
You should find that you can colour both cats seperately. You can colour them both without alpha channel on the layer that says so.
Check 'alpha channel' fore easier colouring
