Aldis (Al-Dese) wields powerful dream magic that is capable of soothing, awakening and healing mental fatigue and trauma. As well as empathic magic which helps her to identify how some one or something is feeling and memory magik which helps her process, use and store large amounts of information at a time. When a royal looses control, or breaks out she is who is deployed to dissuade them. She is especially good with children and helps manage and procure funds for program for troubled youths that she visits as much as possible in regards to her schedule.
Currently her day job is therapy and mental healing for young children who cannot manage their powers well or are born with destructive powers (nobles, citizens and even foreigners alike), on the side she offers counselling to lawyers and nobles who have a case in criminal law, she holds free yoga and maternal self care workshops on holidays and has a small building where ponies of all ages can be taught to take care of and manage their familiars. Though she didn't always know she'd be so social health focused nor was that her chain of thought in several parts of her life.

Before she started practicing therapy (physical (fitness, yoga (Ty Winchester's Wolf for the idea)) and mental) she was your normal middle class pony and wanted to become a dancer initially, then later she wanted to become a judge for that pay check. During her last two years at law school however, she realized that her purpose wasn't a pure one and went deeper into herself finding that she really wanted to become a lawyer to help people but finding that she didn't have to be one to be of help. After struggling with the thought of if her career was really useful or not she decided to pursue a minor in psychology.
After graduation she went into the field of therapy and social work and began to study the condition of lower class ponies to see what it was she could do for them and as a result decided that for lower class families managing children, helping struggling mothers and petty to volatile crime seemed to be the main problem. Thus she started hosting group meet ups at a building she initially rented but later bought for the youth to express themselves, mothers to get a break and for troubled ponies of all ages to seek consultation on a family member in crime, a charge against them or advice on managing their children. The building has since become her main office as well as a small organization where parent's, children and even deemed 'criminals' can go for help. To fund such things that often were held without cost she gathered funds and even stumbled across the freshman that beat her in debate that year who, seemed to be travelling through the area for some reason, thus gaining the contact of Eve Balmane and led to the funding and support by House of Balmane and many others. After getting her funds she realized that certain situations could be avoided if she could make a government run department for the management of youths that couldn't access education on their powers and prevent scenarios in which such powers would be abused because of things like organized crime, hunger and poverty. And so she started drafting a bill for legislature.
Eventually completing the bill and sponsoring it with most of her savings before gathering signatures and having it sent to both the Solar and Lunar palaces. The bill was made to create a new department called magic management and wellness to prevent a ponies or a group of ponies from turning to crime, violence and being banished or arrested for having poorly managed powers. Instead sending them to ponies with dream or a soothing nature magic that would be employed and educated in managing them. The bill was grand and she didn't have the funds to back it up but for now she hoped that the fact that it was needed would cause it to at least be considered. Aldis hoped that if it was approved she could then turn her program into one for (single or multiple) parents and adults that needed physical or mental therapy, her mind cleverly evading the reality that if the bill passed as a royal pony with a political related degree and license she'd most likely have to take charge of it and build it up from the ground.
It's now been two years since she sent the bill after which she officially got her license and she is now an official lawyer .She charges a pretty penny to appear in court and reason for the lesser punishments of her clients under a pseudonym Hyacinth, doesn't do overtime and works part-time. Which often means the case she works on gets handed out to another lawyer during long breaks or continuous proceedings. So how does she stay employed let it be said that she doesn't win every case, but the amount of death sentences have met a sharp plummet and none of her cases ended in one. Her high success rate is mostly attributed to her memory magic since she can remember even the most archaic laws and use them to turn tide or delay a court until evidence is conclusive. During the time Aldis has been waiting for the bill to pass she has also managed to become an official licensed Yoga and foot work teacher and is a beginner practitioner of water magik, since she's into water therapy now.

Aldis was born as the middle class 2nd child and daughter of two scribes and didn't have a rough childhood in the financial or fulfilling department, adding to the fact that her horns and strong powers didn't really start growing in/manifesting until she was mid teens, Aldis had a regular upbringing up until that point. Practicing dance and footwork pre-teen Aldis said she wanted to become a dance teacher and get the solo at the next recital.
It was when her powers started to manifest and she could start seeing into the dreams/emotional state of ponies' did she become more withdrawn and a pony of few words. She found that her favorite dance teacher hated her job as it didn't pay well,that her friends didn't actually like her that much and that her parents would lie to her about things all of the time. And so she stopped pursuing those things as well as growing resentful to the power she was born with. She started to dislike her sister who unlike everyone else was more honest than not but was also the 'one thing' stopping her from going 'evil'
(teenage angst for defiant). She started to be angry unaware that everyone felt that way but even if she knew she would still think her case was special because she now had more responsibility than others now that she was an apparent royal class unicorn.
Aldis now would cringe however Aldis then had her landing to adulthood cushioned by her older sister who understood her frustrations with adults. Her sister would have long talk sessions and take the very cynical Aldis to new and interesting places. At one point she took Aldis to a soup kitchen one Winter since she had community college hours to gain. There Aldis was embarrassed after she called out a pony her age that was lying about the mouths he had to feed. Instead of him being punished she was told by the somewhat blunt head cook that her calling him out was bad. She who became frustrated and stormed off was then consoled by her sister that ponies lie for a reason, and that her power to tell when people were lying should be used to find out why they were lying. Aldis was then taken the following day to the same colt's family where she apologized but only because her sister asked and found that the boy seemed as though he was lying because he wasn't sure if the unborn sibling his mother carried counted as a separate person. And was promptly red faced for the rest of the day.
After this her outlook on ponies and why they lie improved until she began tertiary school. Her sister had went away as a practicing pediatrician to a cold place and she was admitted to a prestigious school simply because she held royal traits. SHe went to dance try-outs and got in but after a few months couldn't stand the divide and what she called petty word sports as well as bias that played out in the group. She then went to the yoga club there at least held much less talking though through meditation she'd end up seeing a lot of teenage fantasies play out since she was still grasping her powers. She would then until junior year seek out a club where she didn't have to deal with ponies and their inherited/adopted issues. She had no luck it was like every where she went was negative ( her empathy powers that she didn't manage well) and she was going to start going straight home until she went to debate club. Unlike most other clubs debate was managed by students only and a couple at that yet it was quiet, members were honest and there was a very large sense of team that Aldis would say was hard to find in her school.
The president and vice president were a couple and kept the environment strictly on topic, Aldis then joined and there thrived, she loved the change that would happen when a pony would believe in their claim so strongly until someone out argued them and how if ponies truly believed or didn't how the way they would argue would change. Eventually she and a club member take over for the couple that graduated and she reaches senior year the following year. The year before her school had came in second and she wanted to become first this time. When her team had reached the semi-final debate was when she was spoofed by a freshman from a prestigious military school named Hallie. The freshman was able to play on Aldis' expectations of her and did not emotionally react to her ploys either resulting in her school coming in 3rd.
It was there that she got the realization that despite supposedly disliking her powers she had grown reliant on them for a matter of things and also the first time she began to take law seriously. Before it was just something that seemed like the best choice given her magik but now she wanted to be good at it. So good that if her magik failed her her skills would make up for it and so she entered a law college with all intention to become a rich judge.

She may seem gentle and patient but is just really good at keeping her thoughts to herself, it is rare that her actual emotions show through her passive façade. Children are incapable of upsetting her unless she has to be upset in order for them to improve. She does not yell or scream and almost never raises her voice, but her glare can cut glass. Because of this she is sometimes viewed as a push over after first a impression but people gain experience after experiencing things so they learn.
She is very driven and although she may come to a conclusion later she'll always attain what she sets her sights on, granted she's all about self sufficiency and helping the lesser fortunate but don't think she'll just accommodate everything. Rudeness or harshness because of ignorance she'll forgive but if she's told you or you know better you'd better come correct. She is known by people she associates with for having the ability to produce the strangest facial expressions at situations, and in court she'd often be smiling as her client is being ripped apart by another lawyer its done on purpose to throw people off.
Ponies who want to tear her down would say that she/Hyacinth was using her charms not ability to win cases or that she had weird mind control magik but they'd just get terrible dreams shortly after. She also is aware of her beauty though she doesn't care how it makes anyone feel when she rejects them. She's tried really hard to mind-shift away from cynic ways of the past okay, but those who propose to her seem to be after one thing her time and for now she and the clients she gives it to are the only ones deemed worthy to it. Though it isn't all bad, stallions or mares alike who have tried to charm her often attend her events or programs as volunteers or they offer monetary contributions, she takes them all and says thank you on behalf of the community of course.
Even though she is tolerant to ponies and their personalities, when her tolerance ends she will get you, and not in an obvious way either. You might wake up one day after having a dream that you'd win big if you spent all of your money on the pony powerstar (powerball (lotto) of Paledon) and then you lose all of your weeks wage doing that, have the worst nightmare of your life or you just might find that your crush is avoiding you after a weird dream they had warning them about you. Otherwise no one has actually seen her temper flare outside of her older sister in her youth.

She loves her parents but to them, although their eldest is a literal nomadic traveling doctor and often loses contact with them from time to time they worry the most about her who will accomplish something even if she has to go to hell and back to get it and does what she wants. They also worry about her, her sister has had boyfriends but their daughter never dated and turns everyone she can find a single fault with down, even though she said she wanted children! Other than the fact that both parents don't know who either of their children take after, nor can they with accuracy tell you where either of their children were at any given point in the day they'll tell you that Aldis and her sister are tied for best daughters in the world.
Hallie remembers Aldis as someone she says hello to at events, and someone her parents does business with but doesn't think much else. Aldis however sizes Hallie up at every event to see if she could penetrate that wall.
Eve Balmane thinks she's a capable young woman and well driven, it is a shame that she isn't related to me in some way. Funding her very relevant cause is what I can do to help her and make the future of Paledon brighter while benefiting my brand, it's all wins with her.
Vera Fissure thinks that she is a well accomplished mare and hope's Hallie can learn from her, sadly it seems that both ponies are socially deficient and it will be a long time till Hallie realizes Aldis wants to be her friend.

After getting notice that the bill was being addressed in the Sun Palace, Aldis was also given notice that she'll be expected to report promptly to her new position as royal therapist. If she had to become a royal therapist to get that bill passed she'd do it. Even if it meant encountering Empress Solaris who's punishments she had whittled down and somewhat mocked as Hyacinth. Well at least it follows her mantra of everyone gets what's theirs and gave her a significant pay rise.
