I was scouting the area trying to find wild boar to eat, I didn't have much luck but I continued on. Before I was about to give up and go back home, but then I saw it.
It's head was similar to that of a crocodile but it had four sharp saber teeth. It body was large and but the way the scale formed it made the beast look fleshy. It was as big as a large bear, it had five long fingers with claws seeming to be able to cut through bone. Its legs fit it's body size but the tail was a bit flat, stumpy, and curved towards the inside. Its skin was a grayish blue color fitting in with the sad cold surroundings, but it was reptilian, it can't live in the cold.
I was watching it slink slowly towards the lake, it seemed as clueless as I was. Did it just arrive, is there more, where were they? I freaked myself out so I started towards my camp, I was sure Brutus was waiting for me anyway. I tried my best to quietly walk through the snow, but I looked back to be sure it was still there.
It spotted me.
I was frozen, I tried to move but my body wouldn't let me. It stood there for a second staring back at me, then it let out a unsettling roar that made snow fall off the trees and snapped me out of it. Thank goodness it wasn't close because it surely would have caught up. I ran fast enough to find a place to hide, it ran right past me not even stopping to check. After that I sprinted back to the camp. Thankfully Brutus was fine, he can handle himself but now we need to find a safer place to stay.
