Antelope OC for Keen 2.0

Postby gardog » Mon Sep 06, 2021 12:51 pm

Same lines, different design

With this design, I tried to capture the feeling of nausea during an attack and your heart beating out of your chest. I also added butterflies on top of the stomach to symbolize the 'butterflies in your stomach' nervousness that'll sometimes appear when you're trying to socialize with people and you're already dreading the reaction that they're going to have to your attempt at interaction.

The eyes are silver to sort of represent storms, whether it's a storm brought about by weather or emotion.

I really tried to go for symbolism with this one, so I hope this is more in the direction of what you're looking for.

- Don't remove my sig (if linework is chosen)
- Credit my Toyhou.se @gardog for the design/linework/both
- Do not sell the design unless adding on the value of paid art
- Do not sell the linework by itself

You may remove the watermarks if you end up choosing this one in some way

Otherwise, I have one more design idea that may not even be anxiety-related much at all, but I might try it anyway.

Oh wow, the symbolism is very creative. Lol for some reason the markings on their neck remind me of how some people carry tension in their shoulders, resulting in bad headaches from the neck up. Overall, really good design I think. ^^

Thank you! I'm glad the symbolism makes sense somewhat. And that's a good way to look at it too! :0

Tension headaches are so painful; I get them often because I tense my jaw a lot, even in my sleep T-T

Same. I probably feel the most anxious when I'm in a social situation that I wasn't able to mentally prepare myself for beforehand or I hear coyotes at night

Coyote story, if you're curious: A few years ago, a large pack of coyotes took out more than half of our pet cat population (around 12 out of 16 were taken), even a neighbor dog was taken, and we lost most of the cats that we've raised from tiny little kittens into full-blown, like, 20-year-olds and it just hit me so hard. Now, every time I hear coyotes, I go into a full-blown panic attack because I love my cats and I don't want them to get taken by coyotes. Yes, they are outdoor cats. Yes, they have many places to hide in an emergency. No, they cannot live inside because 3 house members, including me, are allergic.

Right now, I'm kinda thankful because there's an owl nesting near us that seems to be quite territorial and I know that probably means that it will fight off anything, not just coyotes, that comes into its territory. I think it's already had quite a big fight with a passing predator of some sort, at least, if the loud screaming was anything to go by, lol
