a wulf is a species i created for personal use :> they are kinda like were wolves but fall more under shifters. they are canines first and would be rather offended if you called them a human.
younger wulves often struggle to pull off human looking shifts so their human forms tend to keep wolflike features such as fur, bipedal legs, claws, pointed ears, fangs etc. this can also happen during a lazy shift.
wulves are classified more as spirits than animals but only because not much is known about them. they tend to stick to themselves.
wulves take on the appearance of many different kinds of actual wolves though they are almost always twice the size of their counterpart species. wulves can grown very large in their non human form and their heads can sometimes surpass an average human male's standing.
some wulves have even be observed with other abilities than shifting.
the only easy way to tell if you are talking to a wulf that has taken on a human form is to look at their eyes. most wulves have inhuman eye colors they cant change even with the ability to shift.
unlike their fabled counter part their bites are not contiguous however they are lethal. wulves are also not weak to silver infact their weakness is far from any kind of metal. the only known species wide allergy is to bramble, this can greatly weaken a wulf if exposed to the weed. because of this you will not see wulves scavenging for black berries and such.
do not call a wulf a dog. they will probably bite you. their bite is definitely worse than their bark.
common lingo you will hear a wulf use are the terms: cub; a very young pup
pup; a term used to describe a young wulf not yet in their teens
brute; commonly used by females as a sarcastic tease to rowdy males or an insult used to describe a particularly mean wulf without regard for other
dog; only used as an insult
mutt; another insult
