Yeah XP The story is just a bit of a vent and the lineart went so well with it I thought it would be fitting for me to post the story and my colored in version of the lineart with one another d:
Also, in case you can't tell, the lighter lines on the face are supposed to be tears.
Over the years Ice and, Riot, as she called him traveled a lot, the blue wolf barely managing to hide her affection for her dark friend...though even when she did show her affection in small ways here and there Riot either didn't notice or didn't care to acknowledge it. Throughout the five years that the two traveled together Ice learned many things about Riot, one being that he was the dark king's son and that he had a high price on his head if anyone could catch him and bring him back to the king...still Ice stayed by his side and because of the fact that he was wanted he was constantly getting into trouble that Ice would always save him from. At one point in travels Riot was captured by humans and Ice almost died saving him...when he asked her why she told him She would never let him fall and that she would stand up for him forever...still he either didn't notice her love for him or didn't care to...either way Ice's fate was sealed.
"I'm going to go out hunting..." Ice mumbled, her voice sounding downcast. Riot blinked beautiful eyes that contained the kindess and warmth Ice's ice-blue ones lacked.
"Okay sure...just make sure you don't go to far...you never know what kind of people are around here, not to mention humans." He warned, his eyes lingering on the silvery scar on Ice's shoulder where a human had shot her the last time she'd saved him. Guessing where he was looking Ice shrugged her shoulders.
"I'll be fine...you just make sure you watch out for yourself." She insisted before padding off.
*TIME LAPSE*
Ice's mouth watered as she walked back to her and Riot's little make-shift camp, two plump rabbits dangling from her jaws. The blue wolf blinked ice-blue eyes and she saw that it was starting to get dark though it was to light for any starts to be out yet. 'I'll have to get Riot to start a fire...' She thought as she padded into camp, dropping the rabbits in shock at what she saw.
"No, Ice, RUN!" Riot howled as a large wolf slammed down onto his back, causing him to crack against the forest floor painfully and black-out. With a snarl of pure fury Ice darted forward and lunged for the wolf's neck and in return the wolf agily dodge it and lashed out with sharp, cat-like claws. Ice jumped back but was a bit to slow as the wolf's claws sunk into her neck a bit, though not enough to be dangerous..yet. After about five more minutes of savage fighting Ice lunged forward again, ramming her head into the wolf's chest and winding him. As the wolf gasped for air Ice took advantage of the opening and lunged forward, sinking sharp teeth into his neck. The wolf flailed wildly in a mad struggle to escape, though each movement became weaker and weaker until, finally, the wolf was limp in Ice's jaws.
Dropping the dead body on the ground Ice turned around to see if Riot was alive and gasped as she saw a human standing over him, a gun in hand and aimed right at Riot's helpless head. There was an unbelievably loud pop and suddenly the hunter fell to the ground, his throat ripped open. Ice stood over Riot, a wound that was practically a hole through her stomach because she'd taken the shot meant for him. Riot blinked up at her, he had woken up at the sound of the shot, his eyes confused.
"Why....?" He gasped, eyes filling with tears.
"I lied...I can't stand up for you....any more....I'm sorry." The oddly colored she-wolf gasped in between vicious coughs that caused her to spit out blood.
"No..." Riot mumbled, smiling weakly. "You'll live..." He barked, his voice breathless.
"I'm sorry...I love you.." Her voice broke at the last word and a tear rolled down her face. With a shuddering sigh she fell off to the side of Riot, not landing on the wolf but rather appearing as if she was laying down next to him. "Goodbye." She breathed as her eyes clouded over...
