as some of you may know, the past year and a half I've taken up resin dice making!
it's a lot of fun, and I wanted to share some of that fun with you all!

so for this kal, it is a sort of pyop style competition, where you design a dice set,
and then I will design a kalon based on it!

you can use the template I created, or make your own!
the dice set must include the standard seven dice in a polyhedral set, a d20, d12, 2d10s, d8, d6, and d4.
there are lots of different ways these dice can be shaped, so if you want to go that way, you're welcome to do so!
you can also include additional other shapes if you'd like, such as a d30, d3, d2 or etc. - they will not count as extras

you can design these however you like, they don't actually have to be possible for dice, go wild and do whatever inspires you! I've made a note on the form for if you would be okay with me drawing inspiration from your designs to make a real set of dice, you will be credited if you so wish to be! <3

prettying up is encouraged, no extras!

explanation;

Inspired by one of the most recognizable D&D monsters around, this set of gelatinous cube (or rather, gelatinous polyhedron) dice is sure to catch the attention of your party!
These ominous dice are made of a translucent, green, slightly-glittery resin cast around a hollow glass bead. Inside the bead, mineral oil and a drop of glycerin suspends fimo slice bones and eyeballs inside the liquid. When agitated, the insides of the dice act like a snowglobe and jiggle around, making the gelatinous monster come alive!
Each die is numbered as usual, but the "1" on each die resembles the shape of a bone! The numbers are inked in metallic gold.
This mock-up includes both the standard pyramid d4 shape, as well as an alternative crystal d4 shape. The d2 token has a bone on one side and a "2" on the other, and has no liquid center.
Alternatively, this set of dice could be made without the liquid interior by casting the fimo remains directly into the green resin. :]

explanation; I couldn't fit it on there but the elven numbering is supposed to be done along the edges of each face. It includes green and yellow glitter resin and inside has bees, flowers, and the d 20 has a butterfly, inked in gold and has gold inked edges. I just really like gardens and hobbit holes and Tolkien lore. Excuse my handwriting being partially illegible.

explanation; [ optional, limit 200 words ] Iridescent dichroic glass dice with neon pink swirls and cute sprinkle inclusions. See if you can recognize some shapes! The two D10s each are solid pours of their respective resins, with matte pink representing the tens. The hollow D20 is filled with pink and rainbow matte glitter and charms. (Shout out to stealthcamo for finding the exact video that inspired me!) This set also includes a custom bunny-shaped D2 coin with a different color and face for each side. Dice are shown in raw and gold-inked forms.

may I use your design as inspiration for a real set of dice? Yes! With a custom D2 mold and dichroic film on clear resin, these should be completely doable IRL.

Dice wrenched from the hands of the Fates themselves, one may find that they contain a reminder that one is just as likely to face ruin as reward. With numbering made from the Fates’ strings for evil and virtuous souls, skull “ones”, just a hint of gold glitter and glow powder, and “bloody” red resin contained within the clear dice, these will surely keep your murderhobo players in check!

This formidable Kalon has been the guardian of these dice since he was cursed to be a vampire. How have you managed to take it from him? Simple. You haven’t. He gifted them to you. One can only wonder why.

When the dice left his cold, undead paw into yours, you knew there was some dark magic entangled in them. Maybe that’s why they seemed to glow with a power beyond this world. When you asked him how he obtained it, Constance mentioned he had cheated the Fates for one of their most prized possessions, which determine who lives and who dies. Maybe they’re connected to his curse. But one thing’s for sure. There is undeniable glory and danger in these dice.

And all the more, they call to you.

- Sunken Treasure or Deep Sea Gold
- darkish teal resin (metallic), mixed through with gold flecks, gold edging on the outside
- alternatively tiny pieces of gold foil could be used, though to avoid clumping, I'd probably use a toothpick or a needle to place the individual pieces into the resin (time consuming I know but the effect might be better asdfghjkl)
- you could use silver foil instead, if wanting to go for a different look? I'd also replace the gold edging with silver so that it matches
- semi-transparent colored resin would look pretty rad too !!
