There is literally a scared cat outside my door. This was my reaction when I saw it and gave it some dry food and water, and now I'm like WHAT DO I DO? because I don't know how to gain a lost cat's trust.
Does anyone know? It would be so awesome if you could tell me <3

Lost kitties. So much fun. You just have to be very patient and gentle. Food is a good way to earn trust. If you can, put food outside (away from your door) and sit outside so it can get used to you. Then over time you can put the food closer to you. Food in your hands also helps.

Hmm... I have to remember what happened when I found a lost cat... definetly put some food outside, and look for any sign of rabies/injuries/etc. If it's still around in the morning, I would suggest trying to get a good look at it, and maybe look around town for lost cat posters. Also, you can put a box with some old rags in it under a tree or something, it might take shelter.
