so my solution is to trade art with you guys if you want ! thats basically the whole story. below I will add some extra information.
THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE ASKING:
- the art you will receive from me will be of similar quality to the recent artwork in my gallery. I do not plan to do bare sketches or uncolored pieces. all art from me will be full color (more on that in a bit) and most likely shaded (though this is not a certainty as I do experimental work without shading semi often as well)
- your piece will likely have a background. how relevant the background is to the character depends both on the information you provide to me and what I would like to experiment with while I am making your piece.
- YOUR SKILL LEVEL IS NOT RELEVANT. it does not matter if you are a beginner, if you have been drawing for 20 years, or if you started 3 years ago. I do not care how technically skilled you are. what I would like to see in the piece I get in return is care and effort. what you are capable of and what you would like to do are things that you know, and if you'd like to experiment in yours too, I totally support you. go wild. you do not have to do a fully colored and shaded piece with a background. I just want you to care about the product. equal effort =/= the same piece. I will be doing those things, but maybe it takes just as much work for you to get just a flat colored piece out, or maybe you have a messy sketchy style and you dont want to do lineart. these things are both totally fine. i promise you I won't be disappointed. the time it takes you is also not entirely relevant, though a five minute doodle isn't necessarily the same. i hope that makes sense. basically what im saying is dont worry about the timer so much. or if it's off oekaki just dont worry about the time in general. my pieces take me anywhere from 2 to 6 hours to complete on average and often my timer goes way over because i get distracted in the middle, so it's not necessarily reflective of effort.
ON COLOR:
generally when I draw characters, I eyeball colors. you can provide hex codes and I will try to use them, but I cannot guarantee colors will be exact, especially when I give the piece an environment, or a mood, since not every hue or shade will fit properly into the same location. if you would like me to use hex codes, please type them out instead of showing me a character sheet with them written on the image.
ok, hiero. but what would you want me to draw?
sidney! he is asymmetrical and the designs on his fur are not natural, so you can change their position, density, or shape as long as the shapes stay simple! the only shape that must remain the same is the smiley sun shape on his face.
ok, cool. what kinds of characters do you want to draw?
as I stated in the beginning, I am intending to expand my artistic capacity and obviously that means there are some things I'll want to practice more than others. here's some kinds of characters I would like to practice more in no particular order:
- women
- mechanical characters and/or characters with robotic body parts
- non-white human characters
- fantasy humanoids including but not limited to horned characters and elves
- reptiles and birds
I am absolutely willing to draw other characters, just know that these are ones I need more practice in. You are welcome to post more than one character, though if you do this, please specify if you would like them in the same drawing or you only want one character in a drawing. I cannot guarantee I will do every character you post. The characters I am least interested in drawing are anthropomorphic animals (thinking more along the lines of bipedal furries. furries in their animal counterpart's natural forms [e.g. a sparkledog depicted as a dog instead of standing on two legs] are not included here as you can see in my gallery I am happy to draw those.)
OK THATS A LOT but you dont really HAVE to read it all, I just figured it'd be good to provide as much information as I can. I'll probably take two or three at a time if I even get any inquiries, but it's not fcfs. also, I'm patient. as long as im not waiting 6 months for your half of the trade, take your time.
