They are a generically affectionate species, however many retain wild tendancies and take poorly to being fully confined indoors. In the wild, they typically live in forests near rivers, ponds or lakes. A few colonies have been noted to live near the ocean.
They are highly varied, coming in all colors and patterns, believed to be a result of their fungi.
