However, I didn't need the whole year to appreciate it. I understood the reason it was there, I saw the closeness of the community, I enjoyed the time I had spent there. But more importantly, I appreciate the satisfaction for those involved afterwards. As my clock ticked toward midnight and there's down to zero, listening to what they had to say made a growing impact. They grew closer together through their experience too. Everyone was proud of all that they had achieved, they were proud of each other. But they were satisfied. They ran the race and finished it too, and it felt good. I felt good for them. It was just good to see someone achieve something that big and that erasing something so big and momentous didn't leave them feeling unfinished, but full.
