Kalons-- a species with soft manes and even softer hearts.

Monitored in forests across the globe for years, these animals
have recently been declared naturally tame as well as sapient.
Scientists are asking the general population to consider adopting
Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.

Their shining tails are used for identification and showing off,
which is helpful when spotting another Kalon from afar. This
association with other Kalons is why they are head-over-heels
for any shiny or colorful item that they come across!

The gentle ring of a full vibrato resonated up into the lofted ceilings, the soulful quartet murmuring serenity into the hall. Glistening chandeliers illuminated a lively crowd, and as the dance progressed, Augustine pulled his partner closer, a picturesque grin sported not for her, but their onlookers.

He could care less for the tycoon’s daughter, but a trade deal was imminent if he could impress her tonight. Simply no time to waste on such matters. Another vulture always waiting to pick up the scraps of a broken deal.

As he glided across the marble tile, he felt alive, confident. It was a risk, nonetheless, pitting his luck on a dance. But without risk, how can one find reward?

Their steps matched in a beautiful array. All was well before he suddenly misstepped, losing their tandem and catching the upturned nose of many an onlooker. A flame burned behind his eyes for just a moment, a twitch of the brow the only hint.

“Hah,” he laughed boldly, quite loud enough for all who saw to hear. “I see they’ve never seen the Tibetan step. Shall I teach you, my dear?”

Conversation continued, eyes looked away, and his grin grew subtlety deeper.
