Kardsha

Postby Al the Dalek » Fri Feb 04, 2011 4:09 pm

O_O I can't believe this took me three hours. D:

NOTE: I do not know how to do layers, and anyone that can teach me how will officially win at life. Or at least an hour. Or you know. However long you want to feel the WIN. I would like to progress in my art, and it's a little hard to concentrate on art tactics when you do not understand what the smeg these layer things do.
Anyway.
This is Kardsha. I created his little beastie species when I was at my friend's house. We were watching Alice in Wonderland, and drawing in her sketchbook. Kardsha came into being, except sketched out. And he looked more mousy and he had horns.
I was going to do an awesome background with lots of diamonds colored different, but as I was reaching for the save picture button so I could post it-MY COMPUTER DIED. Thankfully Kardsha was intact along with half of the background, but I didn't go for my original idea anymore.
Enjoy! Comments are appreciated but it's nice just to look on it and see that it's finally finished. *whew*

It looks good :D

How to do layers: Even though I'm new at Oekaki, I have been using photoshop for a while.
Layers are used to seperate differen't parts of your drawing. So if you decide to do your backround on backround layer, if you stuff up its easy to go back, or change if you've decided to do a different picture. Layers also help when your smudging and highlighting certian parts.
Normally I would create a new layer, draw on the new layer and later I would go back to draw the backround- instead of drawing on my backround. (To create layers press the + button)
I hope that made sense

Makes sense. So what does locking the layers do?

And I'm glad you like the picture :)
