It was cold and windy the day of Featherpaw's assessment. The trees were getting buffeted by the wind, and her paws flew out from underneath her. You know, we can always do your assessment at another time! Birchstar shouted over the roaring of the wind. No, It's fine! Featherpaw shouted back, leaping onto the nearest tree. Be careful! Birchstar shouted as Feather paw yelped in pain when a rock flew and hit her square in the middle of her face. Featherpaw! Stop! Birchstar's voice began to turn to a wail, which became more and more desperate as the storm became more intense. Lightning struck the tree Featherpaw was in, and she growled defiantly, pursuing her goal to be a warrior. She leapt forward, and pounced on a cardinal in mid-air. It shrieked in pain, but she cleanly snapped its neck. Featherpaw landed softly on the ground, in sync with a loud boom of thunder. She dropped the dead cardinal at her leader's gaping form. Come on, Birchstar said. Let's go home, you've earned your warrior assessment.
