my mom has been obsessivly playing pokemon GO since I introduced her to it a few months after it came out so I suggested she tries a "real" pokemon game and she didnt even hesitate, I might have had to delete my sun save file but I wasnt playing on it either way and she is enjoying it so far, she went water type wich is... not what I would have gone for, but she likes popplio. she named her character Potis after the time she misspelled potatis (potato in swedish) and we laughed on the floor about it for several minutes.
I could have let her play an older game but she already knows most of the early gen pokemons due to pokemon GO and I wanted there to be a sense of adventure more than just the story element ^^ she has also never used a 3DS or DS before and controls are weird but she'll learn (:

Aww, this is actually super wholesome and sweet. 😭❤️ It’s so cool that she wants to try new things out and likes Pokémon, that would make me super happy too.
