It depends on what's around him. If there's water, he will jump in, no questions asked. If there's nothing around for miles, he will literally dig himself a burrow so deep in the ground that it becomes cool again. He can stay in there for several days at a time, and always makes sure to bring wet moss and some kind of food. He's developed a habit of becoming nocturnal during the summer as well, since most of the time it's cooler at night. He's like a desert lizard. But the opposite. He digs himself holes to sleep in during the day so his fur doesn't make him want to die, and he comes out at night to survive.

prompt: climb the mountain! though it gets summer in ad meliora, it isn't super hot as many places might be. If it gets super warm however him and many others would simply climb to a higher elevation on the mountain their home is built at the base of. The caves are nice and cool, and usually have pools so even if its hot within the caves at least theres shade and a crystal pool to swim in.

“Ughhhhhh” Hestia groaned, laying down in her cave with an audible fwump. she was dying, well technically she already did, but that didn’t matter, she wished her fur could just melt off her.
However, she couldn’t do such a thing, being a deity of fire she couldn’t even escape to her own environment to cool off... no, her environment was similar to Olympus, lined with dozens of burning fires placed along the pillars and stone floors. No, there was no solace there from the heat.
Being a fire deity, she was supposed to be alright with stifling heat, but for some reason she couldn’t stand it. And being on a floating canyon in the sky, that wasn’t ideal.
With a huff, she stood, meandering down the stairs from the cave she lived in, crossing the dusty clearing and climbing another set of stairs.
“Hestia? What are you doing?” Nereus asked, befuddlement on his features as she brushed past him, heading out the back entrance to the next environment.
She was greeted with a cold salty blast and sighed. She should’ve come back a water deity. This was so much better, she perched on the slick stones, feeling the cool water spray wash over her, and relished in the damp, cold air.

The heat. The fire.

All scorching down her back at once, a glistening light shone from the heavenlies. A curse, she had to live through in the sparks of summer. A groan danced from her lips as she fluttered about, desperately seeking the shade from within the dark shadows. But, the faint trace of darkness did nothing to soothe the heat burning through her veins.

“Robin? Is something wrong?”

With eyes that revealed the depths of an illuminated forest, the herbalist’s gaze flitted across her lithe stature. That silenced her wails/. Embarrassment was designed amongst her soft features as the herbalist ventured closer to the auburn-laced cat.

“I..I’m just a little hot, that’s all. Nothing to worry about, Dandelion.”

A little hot? That was a lie. She was burning! Giving a slight swipe of her paw to clear the sweat beading across her forehead, she gave her a seemingly genuine smile before stumbling to her toes.

“I should best be heading out for a patrol. I’ll see you around.”

All she could think about was the fire blazing down her back, she could have sworn, she was on fire.

“Wait!”

The melodic voice of the herbalist was sung from behind her, like a bird’s symphony.

“ Star has excused you from your duties for today. If you’d like, you could go to a.... cooler place.”

She could barely contain her glee.

“Where?”

“The Silent Valley.”

Heart skipping in her chest, she murmured a ‘thank you’ before taking to her heels. There wasn’t a chance she would stay in this suffocating heat, not for another moment.

Bestowed as a gift, there it was, enveloped in full majesty. A gentle breeze fluttered from every corner of the valley, the fire in her bones flitted away and at that moment, it was paradise.

Suparu suppressed a snarl. He was burning, being scorched alive in these flames. The sun was unrelenting in the desert and the sand offered no condolences. His paws were smoldering from the heat.

"I don't see the point of this," he growled. "Who on Hawker's decided to start a water colony in the middle of a desert?"

His companion, Raiden chuckled in amusement. "You know who - and Emperor Nensho has been allowing water-users into the fire camp ever since he and Queen Rikake became engaged."

"Yes, because we definitely need more kittens running around who insist that fire is better than water, despite only being able to manipulate the latter."

"Actually, lightning is the best," Raiden meowed.

Suparu shook his head, dismissing comment. None of this was helping. No matter how much he tried to concentrate on the current conversation, the scorching sun refused to let up. He was burning in his thick pelt, which, by the way, was not meant for traveling through deserts. Usually, he would've just summoned a blast of water to sprinkle all over himself, but apparently, one couldn't do that in an area that majorly lacked any form of humidity. So he was stuck with this. To Suparu's bewilderment, Raiden didn't even seem to mind the sweltering weather.

So he kept walking. It wasn't like he could do anything about the heat. "Ice is the best," Suparu disagreed. "I wish there was a bucketload of it right now."

Keanu follows the example of his clanmates when the shade isn't enough to beat the heat. Given that the water is too dangerous to venture into, he resorts to laying in the mud fields. The tallgrass offers a good amount of shade but the small amount of water that comes up in the mud fields keeps it cool and thus Keanu as well. He's very content with this even though it's difficult to get out later.
