His secret is that he hates fighting and is always nervous when giving orders. This always shocks other cats because he is the Lynx. The best fighter they have, and he dislikes it. He didn’t change what he trained under as a trainee because nothing seemed right for him. Looking back, he might have made a good Raccoon, but it is way too late to change that. The fact that he is always nervous when giving orders is always a shock, perhaps even more than the fact that he dislikes fighting. A Lynx needs to be able to make quick decisions and execute them just as fast. He might seem like he does that, but he always plans ahead so that he has an idea of what to expect. Most cats do not realize it, but if he knows that there is a battle coming up, he will plan in advance. Most of his plans work out, and that spares him the trouble of making quick decisions in the middle of a battle. He fears that if the other cats knew about this, then they would not respect him as much. He fears he would lose the trust of the cats he worked so hard to befriend. Only his absolute closest friends know this about him. No other cat will ever know. (222 words)

Ni stumbled to the ground, winded. His sister Ki huffed and sat down. "You're always falling over these days," she complained. "You never used to be like this. You used to be able to take anything, but now you're a sensitive soul being blown around by the wind."
Ni winced, and not only because of her sharp words. His front paw was throbbing again. My injury must be playing up again. Can't it go away for once? A sharp hiss escaped his throat as he pushed himself back to his feet and turned to face Ki once more. Her face now radiated concern, a stark contrast to her previous disdain, but he ignored it. He had to. "I'm fine," he replied bluntly. "You know me. Nothing hurts me."
Ki still looked worried, however. "Promise you'd tell me if anything was wrong? I'm your sister, you can tell me anything."
He couldn't meet her eye. "Promise."
Ni lifted his chin and lowered into an attack crouch, eyes fixed on Ki as she fell into a similar stance.
The constant, sharp ache from his front paw told him to stop. But he couldn't show weakness. Not in a world like this.

She always knew she was meant to be a Healer. The black cat worked hard to learn the properties and names of the plants around her. Thanks to her calm appearance, her Clan mates respect without a second thought. However... What they don't know is that she is deadly afraid of spiders.
The fear makes her feel useless, and can often get in the way of collecting cobwebs to dress wounds. Spiderweb, with her ironic name, is afraid for anyone to find out, unwilling to let her hard earned reputation to be tarnished by something so trivial. Or worse yet, for her clanmates to believe she's unfit to be a Healer.
No, she won't ever admit that the a leaf brushing against her fur or a shifting shadow causes her heart to race and pelt shiver. Spiderweb does all she can to keep it a secret and work around it. The others can't know, they wouldn't understand...
