Trying something a little new

Postby Lucikan » Tue Apr 28, 2020 4:11 am

Alrighty, I've finally decided to try and over come my oekaki fear of lineart and what better way to try, than give my boi Senri some art. ^^

I've never really liked my lineart on this program so I've been drawing most things in my line-less style, but I really would like to learn how to make clean(er) lines on here. Any tips/constructive criticism on how to improve lineart is very much welcome! I'd love to hear your thoughts <3

Omg this is so pretty!! Holy cow!! I really love your art!

I wish I knew how to make cleaner lines! If I'd guess just practice and no chicken scratching. Try and make lines with one stroke. And if you have to clean it up the eraser is the tool to use. Anyway that's what I keep in mind while lining! I have no idea tho. . .

Ahh thank you so much!!
I'll definitely take those to into account! I do seem to have a tendency to chicken scratch haha so I'll try to veer away from that. Thank you so much for the advice I really appreciate it! <3

Ahhh this looks so awesome!

One other thing to make note of: This is the only art program i know of where the brush stroke will zonk out to twice the pen size you selected if you press down too hard. So like if you picked a brush size of 2, if you press down all the way you will get a brush stroke size more like as if the pen were set to 4. For my lines i always keep it all the way down to 1, maybe 2 if im feeling lazy about coloring the insides. x) Also because im so dang heavy handed i have to go so small so my lines wont be so frickin huge.

Also the smoothing function is an absolute lifesaver. It's a stabilizer of sorts like other programs have.

Aa thank you so much J I really appreciate your insight!! I will definitely attempt to utilize the brush size tips in my next piece! Oekaki really enjoys being whacky some days x3
