I graduated.
Okay, that sounds like a big deal but is it really?
I almost didn't graduate.
That sounds more important.
Sitting on this hill, staring up at the setting sun, I like to think. If this really is the way for me to go. My hands grip the cuffs of my custom made ridgeback jacket, it's red like the others, but this one has the huff crest on the front. It's good to know that my parents did pay enough mind to that. I don't stick out like a sore thumb but I'm just a little different.
I got to keep the ridgeback jewellery, It's also custom for each student, taken from fallen dragons that we lose. There's some significance to that, but the back of the crown keeps poking me to keep my posture straight.
What even is graduating? Getting thrown out into the real world with little idea what to do. Wow! I passed astronomy, what's that worth?
Or moreso the fact what I leave behind.
Sure, I wasn't liked much, I didn't try to be liked either, I was just there. I guess that sort of ruined my chances of regular academic life at Hogwarts.
Well, it's hard for that to be normal.
My fingers touch the large scar that laces my cheek, the skin pulling with my expressions, and I remember the night I earned it. Detention, as it usually works, being in the forbidden forest with Casey, a werewolf attacked us and despite my best efforts of protecting my friend neither of us came out unscathed.
I hope Casey gets where they're going, or at least knows the path.
I'm a little lost for now
