The Heart
Oh the mysterious place that houses our emotions
Can be empty as a pond or deeper than the oceans
Oh the place that causes so much pain
Can drive a person quite insane
Yet also it is full of joy
oh the hearts enduring ploy
The radiance of a love full bloomed
The sadness of a lover doomed
Though truth oft never reaches it
The brain finds here it's lost its wit
So remember ye who dare to try
the hearts deep wishes to defy
love comes softly in the night
and you have not the will to fight
Love
Oft does love cause bitter pain
The tender heart does often drain
Yet this bitter brew we love to drink
And in its depths begin to sink
For the allure of passion remains too great
We fight to embrace it and make it our fate
Yet how can one escape from loves firm grip
When half the time you don't wish to slip
Can one be blamed for wanting some love
When its grip can be tender and fit like a glove
For while love can be hurtful, can also be sweet
To pull away is a herculean feat
Yet remember that judging the difference is key
Never let hope's cruel touch badly hurt thee
