It's not even a sketch really, the actual sketch is much messier, this is just an 'I stopped caring what the lineart looked like' type thing. :')
Well, Grayson and Jonah have been friends since high school, Jonah was the social butterfly, eager to please and popular. Grayson didn't care, he worked overtime to try to make his mom proud, still didn't get good grades, which lead to him not trying at all.
As adults Jonah was still overly dependant on popularity and making people happy, while Grayson was still being a mean spirited and less than friendly person, now a little more aware of his actions, but feeling too busy dealing with depression to work on it.
Having all his highschool friends leave him made Jonah cling on to Grayson even more, which made Grayson, already feeling distant, want to leave even more. Their friendship had a falling out and Jonah became incredibly insecure and Grayson continued to be bitter and push people away.
Because I related to Grayson's lack of motivation to change and tiredness at the time I made him, I worked on his development a bit more than Jo's.
He eventually sought help and starting work at an animal shelter. Met his soon to be wife, and while still very much battling depression has found less destructive coping mechanisms and has a support system.
Jonah just continued seeking validation, got into an unhealthy one-sided relationship, broke up, and uh- I don't know. It's been years since I touched the story, that's all I've got.
