Field is an adoption that is based upon building a battalion to fight a monster, known as "The Great Beast", and its minions. Although it is based on war, there is no gore and hefty topics are avoided entirely. Building your battalion is not required, but you will be very restricted if you do not. (Sorry, the general needs soldiers.) There is no base line for adopts, so things could get interesting with different artists' styles. However, there are only three species available in Field; wolves, winged wolves, and foxes. .

If you want to adopt and you don't yet have a commander, that's okay. Just adopt this one as your commander. All you have to do is write "Commander" under "Rank" and don't forget to make an archive for your battalion.

The rain pounds on the stone streets, lightning piercing darkness every other
heart beat, thunder growling as if in anger at losing its prey - always too late. Here a
warrior was born, unbeknownst to a sleeping world. The she-wolf cries her anguish as
all of her pups die, all but one. She holds the pup close to her, nestled under a box in
an alley. She can hear parts of buildings crumbling, but her only thoughts were of her
surviving pup. The city had been under constant fire for the past week and most of the
world was up in smoke. This was the first day that the city was not attacked. Most slept
peacefully, some in broken buildings, others in the streets. The mother saw her pup as
a symbol of hope, that things would get better after they had been so bad. So she named
her Gia, and fell asleep, dreaming of all of the adventures they would have together.

Time passed and Gia grew. She and her mother became mail carriers. Gia enjoyed the
job and her training on the side. She was determined to become a warrior, a real soldier
in the wars. She already had her first scars to prove her might, even if they were just
from the time she got stuck in a blackberry bush. However, she knew that her heart
would always belong to the letters, those mysterious little rectangles full of wonders
and stories of hope and grandeur. She followed her mother diligently until the day that
the city fell under fire again, when she lost her mother to the dark secrets of death.

Years later Gia found her place in the world. She rarely felt those sharp pangs of fear
and sadness anymore, she knew better than to allow that to overtake her. In fact, today
the grief of her mother's death was no where near the front of her mind. Today she was
accepted into a battalion of her own. With her tiny blackberry bush scars crossing her leg
she stepped forward to take the oath of acceptance. She was part of the troop today. She
had even earned herself a special place. She was the messenger, a spot that she could be
proud of. She would avenge her mother in a way that she would be proud of. Sending
letters of hope.

A small speckled pup was born, the father wanted nothing to do with this little one, he even tried to kill her. The mother would stop at no ends to protect this precious pup, she knew she had the power to be great, yes she might be weak and fragile now, but when she grew she would change history, and she did. As this pup grew the mother struggled to find a name, the father always lurking in the background. "Small Star," the mother whispered faintly. The pup, now a little older looked at the mother and said, "I will protect you, I may be small now but I can!" She whimpered. The mother shook her head and gave a faint laugh, "for now let me do the protecting" the small pup grew and grew, the mother, having numerous scars protecting the young one grew weaker and weaker. One day the father saw his chance and leapt to the occassion, the young adult had no idea what to do but react, jumping in between the two she shouted "Enough!" The father looked at the two and let out a menacing snarl, "yes, you are quite right, child" Small star fought bravely in the end, the father surrendered. "Leave now," Small star said weakly. The old alpha ran and ran. Small star turned to her mother nuzzling gently, "I will always protect you. Small star won the fight but at a big cost ...
