FISH GUARDIANS

Nobody knows where they've truly originated from - but what we do know is that these creatures tend to guard fish and other sealife from great threats such as humans. Funny enough, humans tend to borrow the help of these fellows for guarding their own fish farms against outside threats!


Fish guardians are a semi-open species, meaning you can make one for yourself as long as you stick to using common traits only when you make them!

rules:

If you want to make one, ask to be added! :) You can also make them off-oekaki/on your own lines, so just post those on this thread if you do that! (also, you can make/own as many as you want)

- Don't use traits that are above the common tier unless you have trait vouchers for them!

- You don't have to wait for any kind of approval! If there's something wrong with your fish guardian's traits, I will inform you as soon as possible!

- be nice to everyone here!!!

- Do not make any for "adoption", these are a more personal/light species that are mostly myo-driven and only I (bettalong) may make adopts from these

- don't sell your fish guardian(s) if you didn't buy them. you can gift/trade them though

- you can characterize them in any way you want and give them accessories

- Don't steal anything from anyone!! Don't claim a fish guardian as yours if it's NOT, and also don't beg people for things that's rude

- don't breed your fish guardians! that might come in the future but for now it's not a thing yet unless there's enough of these babes out in existence,,

The most notable features of a fish guardian includes:

Fins behind their cheeks, on the top of their head above the ears, on their back, at the start of their tail, and at the tip of their tail!

They usually have a strong build in order to protect others! That's not to say of course, that there aren't fish guardians out there that are less built

They have a blocky head! Their heads are NOT like canines, and they have a smaller mouth too. They have very sharp teeth though!

They have "scale armor" that covers their shoulder to the beginning of their tail. Extra protection for themselves!

Sharp claws! They got 3 fingers/digits only, no thumbs and no paw pads!

They usually don't have pupils!

COMMON TRAITS:

fins based on any of the following:
bettas (any type), guppies, danios

other traits:
longer fangs
heterochromia
scars / torn fins (they do regrow tho)
webbed feet
even longer claws
visible gills (they do have lungs too!)
ability to change hue slightly

UNCOMMON TRAITS:

fins based on any of the following:
silver arowana, goldfish (any type), bass (any type)
extra finnage

other traits:
pupils (any kind)
multiple eyes (up to 4 pairs)
translucency
angler fish lantern
glowing / sparkling

RARE TRAITS:

fins based on any of the following:
whales (any type), sharks (any type), lionfish, oarfish

other traits:
scale armor shaped differently (can also cover greater or lesser amount of the fish guardian)
edited ears
edited tail
halos
"beaks"

VERY RARE TRAITS:

fins based on any of the following:
tadpole, fantasy shaped, etc!

other traits:
fur (can cover all of the fish guardian or some of it)
multiple limbs or heads (max 2 pairs of added limbs or 3 heads)
goopy part(s)
wings (small only)
elemental imbued traits

Obtaining uncommon+ traits:

In order to obtain uncommon+ traits to use on your fish guardian, there are multiple ways you can go about this!
The first option is to buy the traits with C$.
The second is to do gift art for other people of their fish guardians! This earns you points that can be used to purchase the higher traits!

These traits can be "applied" before you create your fish guardian if you have them!

minimum qualification for points: colored sketch headshot

sketch quality = 1 point
lined quality = 3 points

colored = 2 points
shaded = +2 points

fullbody bonus = +3 points

YCHs only count ONCE, commissions/trades don't count for the point system.
to obtain your points, the gift art must be public/visible so I can award the points! (you may post art on this thread if you want!)
