prompt; Shida likes to tell cubs to be carefree and innocent as long as they can. After that, they get stress, and that's what caused his fur to turn color. Stress he took on as a cub, because he and his siblings were abandoned early on by his parents. He was left in charge, and that put a lot on Shida's shoulders. He's often telling the cubs to relish in their youth, because it can be gone before you know it.

prompt; Some of the wisdom Alụlụ shares with cubs is how to fight, hunt, and not to climb trees. His reason for saying not to climb trees always varies from time to time and depends on how smart the cubs are. sometimes its "I just don't want you all to fall out of trees!" or "You'll get carried away by the biggest eagle on the plateau!!" But the real reason he says this is he was chasing a small kudu ,and a leopard jumped down from a tree and took away his meal. But when he tried to climb the tree after the leopard the tree fell!
I hope this is ok.....

A cub fetches Savio breakfast. Savio leans in, whispering: "If you're quiet and patient, you can wait in a tree and drop a string of acorn on a passing kudu and watch it panic in confusion."

The cub's eyes widen with glee.

Or, when some of the young hunters have finished bringing in a meal for the pride and invite Savio to have something before all the food is gone. The elder smiles before he eats. "Did you know that Jasper, the healer, hates the smell of citrus?" The no-longer-bored adolescents exchange glances.

There was that one memorable time that the king's grandchildren were playing around camp, causing mischief. Savio corralled them with a captivating story of that one time when Savio and the King were cubs and decided to haunt the woods at night. It took three days of the evening scouts reporting of buckets of paint splashing them in the middle of the night, strange howling following them, and evidence of small gremlins before the den mothers put two and two together and made sure their cubs were not sneaking out at night.

Savio is careful to tack on warnings with his tricks-- not every mischievous plan he had in his youth worked in Savio's favor. There was that one time that he thought waiting in a shallow pond for a poor cow to come by to startle... and ended up getting bit on the hindquarters by a small crocodile! Or when he was waiting out a returning hunting party in a tree-- and was kicked out by the nesting hawks who returned from their own hunt.

None of the rest of the pride can figure out why Savio's title among the cubs and youngsters is "Wise One." Savio only smiles when asked, of course, and the cubs have taken upon themselves to create increasingly ridiculous tales of great wisdom Savio has imparted with them-- everyone is skeptical, but only the King grew up with Savio so no one can quite refute it. And the King is too amused by the elder's antics to correct anyone.

For a small feed-- of food-- Savio will help the youngsters and the cubs come up with their own harmless pranks. What's the fun in lazing around camp all day if you can't cause a little chaos?

"Long ago, in this very woods, there was a small pride, and within the pride were only a few little cubs. The father loved his cubs very much, and he tried to do the best he could for his little ones. One day, the youngest cub told his father, 'I'm leaving, papa. I'm not happy here. I want to find better things than what you can give, and I want to find a better pride!'. The father frowned at his son, but soon nodded. 'may you go in peace, my son. Before you go, take this rabbit with you, for you will get hungry on your journey'. And soon, the cub left, rabbit in maw."

"The cub wandered for days, leaving the forest he was born in and wandering the world. He ate that entire rabbit and continued on. He did find a pride later on, and thought to himself, 'oh boy, a pride! They'll surely accept me'. He went right up to the closest lion and announced his arrival, but all the pride did was laugh at him and push him aside. 'You are not one of us!" They exclaimed. 'Go back home!' But the cub only growled, shook his head and wandered off."

"Again, he found another pride, and he thought, 'Surely, these ones will accept me', but he was wrong once more. They pushed him away. Each pride he seemed to find would only laugh and push him away. Soon he became cold and hungry. He thought to himself, 'Oh, why did I leave my home? My papa must be worried sick... I will go back home and beg for his forgiveness. Maybe then I'll be allowed back home.' So the cub went back home."

"He saw his father guarding in the distance, and at the sight of his son, he ran up to him and pounced on him. 'Papa, I'm sorry I left. Please forgive me!' The cub begged. His father could only shake his head. 'I forgave you the moment you left, and I counted the days to your return. Come! Let us feast, for this is a momentous day. My son has returned!'."

"And that's my story to you, young cub. It is a story that has a meaning. You may think it's bad here, but it's much worse out there. Don't take what you have for granted." (394 wc)
