RulesThese are quite lengthy; if there's something in particular you're looking for, CTRL + F / CMD + F or using the sequi Google Doc is faster. Please remember that sequi are planning to cross-post on both DA and CS; these rules cover what is applicable to both sites.
Here are the titles & basic descriptions of different rule sections that you can use as a starting point for using CTRL + F / CMD + F:
General
etiquette, definition of 'art' in context of sequi, crediting, bans
General Species
Editing & Revamping
changing and / or updating an existing sequi
Trading, Selling, & Gifting
rules for trading, selling, & gifting sequi
General [upd. Oct. 1, 2020]
“Art” refers to forms of art (writing, fursuits, digital / traditional artwork, models, other physical forms of art, etc.) of all media types.
“Paid art” refers to these forms of art that have been bought with real currency (USD, CAD, etc.) or digital currencies that can be bought with real currencies (Chicken Smoothie C$, Flight Rising gems and / or treasure, DeviantArt points, etc.). “Paid art” also includes art made by the owner of the sequi.
- Respect other users, their characters, and these rules. You don’t have to like them.
- You can own as many sequi as you'd like.
- If you take your sequi to Toyhouse or another website, please:
Credit ‘seiren-ryder’ on Toyhou.se as the creator.
Credit your sequi's artist as the designer.
Have a link on their profile / storage to their masterlist entry.
- There is a 3 day cooldown for Auto-Buys (ABs). You may only AB one sequi every 3 days.
- Rules may change at any point in time without any prior notice.
- Banned / blacklisted users’ sequi will not be readopted or repossessed. Sequi of banned users will be voided and the user(s) may not participate in the species any longer; new, unbanned owner(s) may reinstate them.
- Voided sequi cannot be used to participate in the species; they will no longer be called sequi and their masterlist entries will be edited to reflect that.
- Submissions to official groups (Discord, DeviantArt Group, etc.) must not contain any NSFW or heavy gore. Minor gore (no internal organs, detailed flesh, etc.; bones & minor blood are fine; essentially, what you can do on CS is okay) is allowed as long as it is appropriately filtered.
- Submissions to official groups should do their best to be placed in the appropriate areas.
- Failure to abide by rules may result in a warning and / or ban. Bans may be permanent or temporary.
This includes using loopholes as a means to get around rules
General Species [upd. Sept. 27, 2020]
- Sequi are a closed species; you may not make your own without an MYO or proper permission (eg. contest, event).
- Sequi may not be co-owned.
- MYO / Custom sequi MUST be approved before they can be used / archived.
- A sequi’s final pair of legs must have cloven hooves and must have at least one pair of lion-like paws. Seaqui are the only permitted adopts to not have cloven hoof hind legs.
- You may roleplay with your sequi; it is not required to inform anyone.
- Sequi designs may not be based off of existing characters or real people.
Editing & Revamping [upd. Oct. 1, 2020]
- You may add accessories, clothing, and / or scars to the sequi you own without any prior permission. There must be at least 1 reference without items or scars.
- A sequi’s reference(s) do not need to be on a base. A new reference can be made at any time without any prior permission so long as the design is not changed unless:
You have an approved revamp.
- Slight colour adjustments do not count as a revamp but still must be approved.
- A sequi may be revamped every 3 months. Only small changes may be made, unless using trait edits. ‘Small ’edits should keep the sequi recognisable. Small edits may include:
Palette change but leaving markings / patterning mostly untouched.
Pattern / marking change(s) but leaving the palette mostly untouched.
Change of 1-2 trait(s) to alternate variant (eg. ear trait of same rarity) while leaving palette & markings mostly untouched.
- All revamped sequi must be approved before their updated version may be used.
- Submitted revamps must be completely finished.
Trading, Selling, & Gifting [upd. Sept. 27, 2020]
‘Digital currency’ refers to any in-game currency/s that may be purchased with “real” currency (eg. CAD, USD, AUD, etc.). These may be called ‘premium currency’ by some games.
- Sequi may not be gifted, sold, or traded to blacklisted / banned users under any circumstances.
- When trading / selling / gifting sequi, the new owner(s) must be informed of these rules and agree to follow these rules.
- Once traded or sold, there is nothing that can be done to force a return if you change your mind.
- Sequi originally bought with real or digital currencies may be resold, but for no more than their total worth (eg. original sale cost + additional paid art).
- Sequi won with pets, items, or other game assets (such as Dappervolk familiars; excludes digital currencies) may not be sold for real or digital currencies. They may be traded or gifted.
- Sequi with additional paid art may be sold. The sale price must not exceed the total worth of the paid art.
- Traded and / or gifted sequi originally bought (with in-game pets, items, or any other form of “currency”) may have a change in their monetary value.
Gifted sequi and sequi traded for pets and / or items from any game lose all monetary value; these sequi may only be sold if they have new paid art received after the trade / gift has been approved and the sequi has been transferred to the new owner.
Sequi traded for other sequi or characters keep their monetary value.
- A user may gift as many sequi as they would like with no cooldown.
- A sequi may only be traded 2 weeks after it is initially received.
3-way trades must be discussed & agreed upon beforehand. Proof of the agreement between all users must be posted at the time of posting the trade / transfer request.
- If trading for another species, this trade must also follow any rules of that species.
- A sequi may only be sold 3 weeks after it is initially received.
