There will also be some mares that still have their foals that need to be taken care of. Euphorian lovers from all over have come together to get homes for all of the animals. She enjoys lounging in the sun and taking strolls in the pasture, as there's another foal, Crypt, that she easily made friends with, his parents and a few other mares. When she's angry, she can say silly things and stomp off but can't resist being sweet when she comes back hours later, due to being hungry. She's quite silly and easy to like, but can sure chat an ear off about nothing. But there's nothing better than curling up in the stables, next to Hannah at the end of the day.

Like fire from a flame, ignite her.

She is a whirlwind of hooves and fur and fury as she whips around the small pasture, panic and freedom and chance overrunning all her senses.

She flickers and dims and flares again, brought to life, held down from fears of her past, gleaming.

Helpless and sufficient she's caught in the middle of a dangerous dance of too-good-to-be-true and reality.

She bucks and flies in a flurry of warmth and cold.

A warm voice calms her down but adds gasoline to her flame as well.

It's curious and sweet and toogoodtobetrue.

It's not real, it can't be, because all she's ever known is fear and sorrow, and this kindness (a great big pasture and a clean coat, horses who nicker as she passes, who don't nip at her when she pushes to get fresh air) shes doesn't deserve it, not when she's been told (Though not directly) that her whole life is worthless.

So she kicks and ramparts and all the pent up tension of a wildfire is unleashes in the small paddock as she burns.

Once she was settled in her new home, all hell broke loose.

The shy, frightened little filly we brought back was gone within a week; it only took a few grooming sessions, hot mashes in the morning, and a warm stall at night to really bring out her personality. Since she recovered so quickly, we decided to put her out with the other Thoroughbred foals who were about the same age. I made sure that either I or another ranch hand was always in sight to make sure she was getting along okay. It seemed to take a few hours, but the rambunctiousness and energy of the other foals seemed to pull her out of her shell, and in no time she was racing the other foals along the fenceline, bucking and rearing and whinnying with joy. It was very apparent that she didn't have the speed to keep up with the other colts, but what she lacked in leg length and stride, she more than made up for in fire and spirit. It made me smile, and we left her to her own devices.

Outside of the pasture, though, she's always on her best behavior. Her ground manners were impeccable, even at such a young age, and she always stands perfectly still to be groomed, trimmed, and "tacked". I wish I'd known which horse from the farm had been her mother, because she taught this precious little girl well. She's so gentle and sweet, and a dream to train; willing to work, loves to compete, even her gait feels like floating. But if you get her in a pasture of energetic horses, she is immediately down to play. With her friends, she's a firework whipping across the emerald grasses, racing the sun and the wind.
