Why this name for this Lioness?: Her names are hard for her to come to terms with, to put it simply. The first she was given without a choice, while the second she made her own. Myrina, her given name, is derived from the Ancient Greek “mýrina (μύρινα),” who was a strong and brave Amazonian queen. Her parents valued brute strength above all else, even their own daughter’s wishes. But, despite wanting nothing more than to leave her past behind, she recognizes that it forms the foundation of who she has become and that she cannot ignore or abandon it. It is as integral to her as anything else but it is not all that she is, which leads us to her chosen name: Thea. With Greek origins, the literal meaning is “divine” or “goddess.” However, upon digging deeper, it is specifically the name of the goddess of light. What this represents to her is her dream to continue walking the path of light: she hopes to not only become more than what she was born to be, but also help guide others to do the same.

Theia was born a masterpiece, exactly as she was planned. Big, strong; everything was perfect. Except for one weakness: her heart. It may sound cheesy to say, but her heart truly was her downfall from the very beginning. Even before the logic of her brain caught up, her heart always knew her parents were wrong. That they were cruel, that she wasn’t meant to be a tool. A weapon.

To be honest doesn’t mind fighting, to an extent at least. It brings her no joy in any sense of the word, but she’ll do it. Willingly if she has to of course, but happily if it’s to protect those she cares about or to defend the defenseless. This clashed with her family’s ideals in horrible ways, meshed even worse. For the longest time she believed family was forged by blood and blood alone, and that without them she’d have no one. She found no joy in following their example, but they were family. Right?

Wrong, very wrong. It took her so long to figure that out, to realize she was more than what they tried to forge her into. Her heart on fire was too strong, too hot, constantly melting the cool steel they tried to seal it in. It was inevitable she’d escape, and escape she did.

From then on though, she decided she’d never live the way she had before, never again. She’d follow her heart, helping others and searching for a family she can call her own. She’d guide others, becoming a beacon of light by which she’d guide them along her footsteps. She’d be better. She’d be strong.

Why this name for this Lioness?: Kali was named after the defining personality traits she's displayed ever since she was a cub. Her name means energetic, lively and fierce and Kali fulfills all 3 of these meanings just by being herself.

Kali has the energy and excitement levels of an overly enthusiastic cub. She almost never seems to tire and is usually on alert. She is an excellent hunter, using her strength and seemingly endless energy in order to overtake her prey. She isn't the fastest lion to exist, but she certainly can run for a longer duration of time than the rest of her pride.

She prizes herself on her hunting ability. Although not the lead hunter she is often assigned key roles in hunting. She loves the excitement of being the one to take down the prey. With all her energy she needs to stay occupied. On occasion, when a day is being particularly boring, Kali will wonder off and sometimes come back with a small prey. It's usually nothing more than a snacks worth of food, but she'll parade around for a bit just to show off before ultimately either loosing interest and leaving it for scavengers or giving it to another pride member. She often eats well when the pride take down prey together so it's rare that she'll actually eat one of these smaller prey. She literally just catches them to show off.

Whilst the pride in general like Kali they do get tired of her unnecessary hunting. Sometimes Ozmore will come up with plans and puzzles designed specifically to keep Kali entertained so she isn't fidgeting around or hunting unnecessarily.

Why this name for this Lioness?: Thamina was given her name by her parents because to them she was everything her name means, valuable, priceless,,and precious and no matter where she went or what she did they never wanted her to forget it. And to this day she takes comfort in it, especially given that she doesn't often feel truly valued by anyone anymore.

Back Story:

Thamina was born in a small pride, one of several cubs born to the king and queen. From the time she was a cub it was her dream to be queen one day, and her parents raised her with the intention she would be.
But as time passed things changed that altered those plans.
Their pride wasn't thriving as it once had, prey moving on and becoming scarce and the pride lions themselves growing older with no new lions joining them to provide the pride with cubs and new blood.
By then Thamina was older and already taking on the duties of princess and more, if only to try to save what was left of her pride. But as time passed and nothing changed she began to see that there really was no hope for her pride to be reestablished without outside help.
Her father was resistant to the idea, but in time came to accept it for the sake of his pride. They decided to try to make an alliance with a larger, stronger pride in hopes they could move the pride to a new territory that bordered an already established pride. This way they’d be less open to attack.
As her parents explored these options they decided the best way to accomplish the kind of alliance they wanted was a marital alliance with a large pride not too far from where they lived.
When it came to deciding which of their daughters to send the king and queen had a hard time. They had only Thamina and her younger sister. They didn’t really want to send either lioness. Thamina was their future queen, trained from birth to take their place and her sister was a quiet, sweet tempered young lioness who never wandered far from home and had no desire to.
Selfishly Thamina didn’t want to be the one to go, to give up her dreams and home to become a mate to a king she had never met. But more important to her than even her own dreams and desires was the wellbeing of her family and pride. So, to spare her sister the journey and uncertainty and her parents the pain of making the decision for them, Thamina volunteered to be the one to go.
Her parents had to be convinced but in the end were persuaded it was the best thing, so they allowed it. Thamina was accompanied to her new home by both her parents and a couple lions from her pride. Then in a traditional ceremony she was bound to the king of that pride as his mate until death parted them.
She didn’t know then what a trial it would really be, living with the increasingly violent and harsh king. But Thamina was raised to be a queen and always kept that air of confidence about her, refusing to let him or anyone else belittle her or push her around.
In the end her bold, brave, confident, and outspoken personality served her well on many occasions, and still does. And she doesn’t fear any repercussions for her honesty and boldly stated opinions. Truth be told most lions don’t know what to do when nothing seems to get under her skin so she can get away with saying a lot and is happy to take advantage of that to try to keep tensions at bay in the pride or make sure opinions are heard, whether they are her own or those of someone else too afraid to speak up.
Sometimes she still dreams of what it might have been like, if she had stayed home and become queen of her birth pride as she was supposed to. But mostly she tries to just be happy as she can with what she has and make the best of it.

I would love something with greenish shades and leaf-shaped patterns, if possible. Dark green eyes would be cool too. If you aren't feeling those, you could base her off a tree/birch or fox. You know I love all your designs, though, so take as much liberty as you'd like!
