Zachary ran through the starlit field, casting a few glances back as he puffed through the tall reeds.
"Zach! Wait up! I- I can't run this long." a breathless voice echoed among the reeds and Zachary heard a crash of reeds as what he assumed was his friend, fell.
He ran through the course his friend had taken and came through a small opening of reeds that allowed him to slowly walk up to him, but a sharp gasp escaped his throat as he saw his friend, unconscious and bleeding out.
"Lile! No!" he ran to Lile's side, his companion he so dearly cared for and loved, weak and unable to go on. The all white cat reached his paw towards Zachary, his orange and blue eye shimmering with tears as he pushed his keystone towards him.
Lile started to grow weaker and struggled to reach closer to Zachary, barely managing to whisper; "Go. You know what happens once it's gone."
Zachary smiled sadly, understanding. He sat beside his friend, taking hold of Lile's keystone watching as he breathed his last breath, to become one of the creatures they feared most; a kivoll.

Hey everyone! Only a few people may see this but,, I'm thinking about making a series on here. Basically a series that most likely will be about a species I might introduce sometimes towards Halloween (though the species isn't entirely established yet?) once a few problems in the references and species concepts are worked out.
Above was just a bit of an idea of how to open up the comic, though ofc that would mean more practice on layouts for the backgrounds and the opening. It's just going to take some time to fix a few kinks here and there. If you all think it's worth it, comment with your feedback and I may just work on the opening scene, where I kinda of explain things a bit more. ^^

If I get about 10 to 15 responses that this is a great idea, then I will start thinking up the opening part. I already have the overall theme in general.
