The wendigo is such a brutal story, most often depicted by humans canibalizing to stay alive in harsh winters, it's a very reflective story to read or hear.
In a life or death situation, would you willingly surrender your being to becoming a wendigo to continue living? But if you do that are you really even living? You lose the ability to control yourself, is it a fair trade? Or would you starve. Could you even starve before your body's will to survive kicks in and makes you?
Theres just so many questions Elliot can theroize for hours on, and never get bored! Theres also other versions of the tale, which he could make different hypotheses about, but usually he sticks with the most well known version.
But in all honesty he loves all forms of Folktales and Mythological creature stories, and loves to hear other's ideas and opinions on them!
