Moons ago, the five warrior clans, ThunderClan, WindClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan, and SkyClan were destroyed by a massive storm. A tornado tore through the territories, and a massive forest fire ran through ThunderClan. The cats who were able to escape alive fled. With the remaining cats, StarClan contacted many warriors, even kittypets, to create new clans. If their plan failed, the warrior code may just be lost forever.

Welcome to Rays of New Light. For short, it may be referred to as RoNL or Rays. With the cats you gather, you can create your groups, whether it be a clan, a tribe, or whatever comes to mind. Please remember that the leveling up tasks and limits must be met. This includes no more than one leader or one deputy depending on your level unless you complete the "Expansion Challenge."

As the medicine cat, Muddysun is often overworked and underappreciated. Even before she joined the clan, her expertise was used and abused by many of those around her to the point that solitude seemed like paradise. She rarely gets a day off and many scoff at her when she tries to explain her workload, often claiming that 'young cats these days, no work ethic or responsibility' while going to her for even the slightest scratch. The only cats that don't treat her like this are Rabbitfoot and Scatteredfur. In fact, she often has to drag one of them in for an illness or injury because they're so worried about increasing her workload. She honestly wishes the rest of the clan were like them or that she was older.

The others envy her beauty, her light and soft coat, her striking forest green gaze, well.. everything! In this case, it’s not trying to brag or make this she-cat flawless in every way, It’s a hidden meaning that every she-cat shouldn’t feel insecure and want to be like somebody else they think are better than them. With an irritated sigh, she looked around for Badgersoul, yet no one else was in the camp. She would have to guard it again, only to be sent out to hunt the moment they came back. Why did everyone avoid her? Confused as much as she was annoyed, Quietshadow sat down to groom her pelt.

Prompt: Rose is the smallest cat in the tribe, and as such is treated like a kit by many of the older members. This is all by mistake, and she knows, but cant help but feel resentment towards being mistaken for a kit and not an apprentice. Her mentor also looks down upon her, doubtful that she will ever become a full member, due to her size. He has only worked on hunting with her, not realizing her size could be an advantage to her and the tribe. The only cat who believes in her is the Den Mother, Lion. They grew close over the few months Rose was growing after they found her, even helping her to practice her hunting techniques and even some fighting moves.

Like a radiant warmth that draws others closer to her she is like a flower in the middle of the field. The sun that shines to brighten others day. She is treated very well in her clan even by Ashenrain who doesn’t really care for anyone and Silverfang who prefers to be on his own will tolerate her presence most of the time. She is well respected amount the clan and is close friends with Fallingstar who sometimes asks her for advice on how to handle a situation. Sorrowlight often depends on her support, often leaning on the she-cat and Cloudedlily takes in her tears and helps to keep her going. Sootpaw looks up to her like a mother and she often goes out of her way to help with his training. In her clan she is very loved as she loves them.

Prompt: Being the eldest in the clan, Oaktail is well respected and beloved by kits. Oaktail lived as a kittypet for many years until she ran away because her twolegs had bought a young, mean, kit. Smokestar often comes to Oaktail for advice, even though Oaktail hasn't been in a tribe for that long. Oaktail is a mediator, making sure all of the warriors are being fair to the apprentices. The kits love coming to Oaktail to hear a story about the twolegs and the mean ol' kit that ran her out of her den. The queens respect Oaktail because she seems to always know how to calm down even the wildest kit. While apprentices may normally whine about picking ticks off elders and fetching them moss and feather, the apprentices tolerate doing it for Oaktail because she helped their mothers raise them and she often awards them with another fun story.

Prompt: Morning grew up in a harsh place. She was a kit of the River Clowder, a clowder reigned over by tyrants. She was never meant for warrior life to begin with, an already timid molly. Putting her on the front lines of the constant warfare waged on the streets was a bad idea. She ended up there anyways because every cat was required to fight.

Twitch took her into Lucentclan when the clowders merged into one clan. The whole clan treats her with great care. Although she remains very skittish and lacks any sort of confidence, they encourage her as much as possible. Kestrel was the one who came up with the concept of messengers to provide an avenue for cats who simply can't handle the fighting required of warrior life. While she may not trust others quite yet, they try to make her feel welcome.

Being a Healer, you would think every cat in the tribe would automatically look up to her and respect her for the rank she has. Well, that's not quite the case. In fact, the tribe is pretty split on how they treat the she-cat; being made up by survivors of a previous tribe and clan, the former clan cats treat her with great respect and value her help and advice while the former tribe cats don't exactly see the feline as something majorly special. Although they have to agree that her talent is outstanding. Still, Marigold Leaf takes anything she can get. Being a previous tribe cat herself, she appreciates the others visibly accepting and acknowledging her role more. Though, she has to admit, it's a little embarrassing quite yet to almost be worshiped by the former clan cats.

For a Clan that has the reputation that it does, Hollysong is treated fairly nicely. Hollysong was certain that with the known hostile territory and demeanor, she was surely going to be treated like everyone else. Survival of the fittest. But she was shocked to discover that everyone was a lot nicer than they appeared once they have gotten to know her. The only one that still held that mind frame was the deputy, Emberpelt. She didn't know what the other she-cat had against her but she tried to not let it bother her. Unbeknownst to her, the sweeter treatment was because everyone but her could see that Maplestar had feelings for her and no one wanted to anger him.
