hhh I got a new dog today and I love her ;0;
We’ve been visiting her at the local shelter for the past few weeks and today was the day we could finally take her home ;v;
Her name was originally Petal, but my mum asked if we could have it changed to Midge (our other dog is named Mungo, and it reminded her of a show she used to watch growing up, plus, she’s like, super tiny- However I can’t help but to think of all those times in the simpsons where Moe calls Marge “midge” wh e e ze-) They know she’s part Jack russell and crossed with some other unknown breed, but we believe she is likely part chihuahua due to her size and facial structure. It’s strange, because I’ve never been a fan of very very tiny dogs, but there’s just something about her that’s so loveable.
We’ve been trying to get her settled with Mungo so far (he gets very jealous of other dogs getting attention, so we’re doing things gradually and trying not to interfere too much at first, just letting them work things out by themselves) we’ve done a couple house visits before with her, but now that’s she’s staying permanently, there’s still to be a lot to get used to.
I needed some practice with oekaki, and realized I’ve never really done any realism or semi-realism on here before, so I decided to use a picture I took of her on the car ride home as a reference.
(I have it here as an attachment if it’s not showing up at first)
I’ll hopefully remember to come back and finish this,, but if I don’t, don’t be surprised-
Edit: oof, I know I have the angle on the eye kinda wonky and the ear a little big, so I’ll try fixing that later
