Rei
What's with the feathers?
Looks like this thief is quite a high ranking one.
Rei, or more commonly known as "Giggly Jack", is a member of the thieves' guild called Feathered Crooks.
Despite being a well-known band of thieves, this guild has strict rules and a hierarchy. The ranks are usually indicated by the feathers the thief wears: the redder the feather, the higher the rank.
A bit about the Feathered Crooks:
Their ranks, as I said before, are indicated by the feathers they wear; the redder the feather, the higher the rank.
But there are two exceptions:
Black and white. Black feathers indicate that the mage cat is the leader of the gang, while white feathers symbolize the second-in-command.
A bit about Rei:
This thief was not always a part of the guild; after his mother died, his father left him on the streets. He had to learn to stay alive at a very young age, and so he resorted to stealing and cheating.
The guild took notice of him after he failed to steal from one of the members (a member who became his mentor after he joined the guild), and since this member saw something in Rei, they took him in, and he became an apprentice.
Since then, he's been climbing the ladder to becoming a second-in-command.
Why is he called "Giggly Jack"?
Aside from being usually a happy-go-lucky mage cat, Rei likes to giggle every time he sees something that's even slightly funny to him, or whenever he successfully steals something. You can't see him, but you can definitely hear his giggling as he carefully takes what's yours.
