Scylla absolutely adores all the grouper fish, but malabar groupers steal his heart. He loves their spots and mottles, and generally just thinks they're the most beautiful fish in the sea. Plus, he has a massive soft spot for fish that have a generally dumb face. Y'know, the face that just screams "Not the most intelligent!". Though... he supposes most fish fit this look.

Despite her soft appearance, this little gal has an odd fascination with the more bizarre side of undersea life. She goes out of her way to learn about the less heard of fish species so that she may teach other people about them. She loves fish that look a little out of the ordinary, or have an unexpected name.

That leads to her favorite fish being the squirrelfish.

She loves the unique name. The small size that makes it seem cute. The big eyes. They are nocturnal (which she relates to, as she likes to stay up very late and sleep during daylight hours). How they can range from soft colors to bright orange. And she quite likes how unheard of they are, because it gives her a chance to be the one to tell people about them.

Prompt: Pearl's favorite fish is the seahorse! Here's why;
Seahorses not only have their males become pregnant, but what they're not very well known for is what Pearl likes most. Their genus name is "hippocampus" which means horse sea monster in Greek. Their eyes move independently, their long tubular snout allows them to go undetected when stalking their prey, and their tails are made up of thirty-six bony segments. Each segment is comprised of four corner plates connected to joints. When exposed to pressure these joints allow the bone plates to glide over one another without being damaged. So cool!

Prompt: She's super flabberghasted by the Sunfish ! Honestly look at the size of that thing. What a chonker. Her favorite fact about the sunfish is, after its deep dives for food (primarily jellyfish), it will come back on the surface, laying flat on its side. This behavior allows seabirds to actually stand on its side and pick off parasites that have accumulated on the fish. This is one of the coolest expressions of mutualism that she knows of since it essentially occurs across the air-sea interface! They're just huge, incredible creatures that she loves a lot.

Prompt: Gracilaria's favorite fish is the Atlantic White-Sided Dolphin. Although every Flit else seems to believe that dolphins are for some reason mammals, Gracilaria knows for a fact that they're fish. Why else would they live in the ocean? She loves the grace with which dolphins fly through the water, and the teamwork that they use when hunting. Gracilaria believes that Flitz and humans could certainly learn a thing or two from the cooperative behavior of dolphins. They're also just all-around amazing animals; she's pretty sure that there aren't other fish out there that will play with clumps of seaweed simply for the sake of having fun.
