Whenever feeling down, Crowpaw reaches out to his best friend, Birchpaw. She was the first cat of Autumnclan to meet while he was alone in the forest, living by himself, struggling for food. She was very kind to him. More kind than any other cat had ever been. The two grew the strongest bond together and are now inseparable.

After several nightmares, Crowpaw began acting different. He became more skittish, protective, and clingy. In these nightmares, the life of his best friend is brutally taken from her, leaving Crowpaw alone once more. He doesn't wish to be as protective of Birchpaw, but he can't help the fact that she means the world to him.

Without Birchpaw, the small apprentice would be nothing. Birchpaw is all he has. She is the only one he trusts. The only one who can make him smile when he's feeling down. The only one who truly loves him. Crowpaw wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for his best friend. She has helped him through thick and thin and keeps him happy, even during his darkest times. She makes him happy.

Though Birchpaw has told him that she will never leave his side and she will always be there for him, Crowpaw can't shake the fear of losing her. It is the most terrifying thought of his. Without her, his world would end.

However funny it is, Webfoot's biggest and silliest fear is of ants. While they are so small and seemingly harmless, the large blue tom was bitten by a colony of fire ants in his previous home, scarring him forever from the group of bugs. The warrior does know how to distinguish fire ants from normal black ants, he just doesn't use this skill as he doesn't want to be bitten ever again, so he avoids them altogether. Cats, including his sister, Doveflight, laugh at him all the time for his undeniable and unfixable fear, though he ignores them and lets the fear continue to live inside him, not bothering with trying to figure out a possible "cure."

Slatefeather is always afraid that cats won’t lkke him. He tries his best to impress others, but is always self conscious. He also is afraid of a big fight, when two cats start arguing, he shies away. He is afraid to get his claws bloody and tries to stand up for peace.

Darkness. It threatened to ensnare any cat who touched it within it's grasp, and it was a terrifying thought. Most of the others would just ignore the inevitable spread of darkness, the creeping tendrils that came once the sun went down, paying it no mind. They didn't seem to think that it was anything to be feared.

Perhaps Pigeonfeather wasn't always this afraid of the dark, but not everyone has had the same experience that he has had.

"No, not like that, Pigeon, you're doing it wrong!" One of Pigeon's siblings squealed, indignantly hitting the moss ball away from Pigeon's grasp. "You have to hold it like this for me to hit it well!" The other kit demonstrated the proper technique, glaring firmly at Pigeon before walking away.

Pigeon squirmed uncomfortably, looking into the now dark forest. Their mother had yet to return, which was worrisome. She never stayed out this long. Absently, Pigeon held the moss ball like his sibling wanted, feeling the slight gust of air as the other kit flicked the moss out of his outstretched paw and sent it flying into the forest.

"Yes!" The kit exclaimed, bounding after the moss without as much as a glance at Pigeon, before he was able to get a warning out to his sibling. Something was wrong out there. Pigeon could sense it.

A low growl echoed across the forest, causing Pigeon's fur to stand on end. He froze, hearing a sharp yowl from his sibling and the thundering paw steps of them running away, much larger paw steps giving chase. It was then that Pigeonfeather decided to hide, not able to do anything but shake and quiver until the sun came up.

And then he ran. Never to learn of the fate of his family, and never trusting anything good to come out of the darkness ever again.
