personality:
how they discovered that rainbows come through their spikes when in sunlight:
Pelegrin used to live in a large underground cave; it was his home, a seemingly endless underground maze with rooms full of beautiful crystals, with some illuminating the place. He knew it like he knew his paws.
Without an exit, he was basically locked up there since he was born and knew nothing about the outside world.
One day, he heard a rumble coming from one of the darker rooms. When he got there, Pele hid behind a rock and watched as three creatures entered his home.
They looked like him, he realized.
One looked like he had long, fluffy fur covering his neck.
The second one he couldn't quite make out in the dim light, but he was dark and had a big scarf around his neck. It's like mom's old blanket!, he thought.
But the third one was the most curious to him: the markings that decorated his body shone like the crystals of the cave, illuminating the first one's sparkling mane.
As he finished taking in the looks of these newcomers, he realized that they were staring at him. He isn't the master of hiding, it seems.
He knew the language the three spoke; his mother taught him while she was there and looks like it finally paid off.
They asked him about crystals and monsters. While he lead them to a room full of the crystals they mentioned, Pelegrin had quite a lot of fun with the maned one, Tyrique, and on the way back to the newly formed exit too.
When they got there, Tyrique asked Pele if he wanted to come with them.
Curiosity took over him and so he said yes.
When the group got out of the cave, they waited a bit so Pelegrin's eyes could get used to the light above. He hesitated before stepping out into the sunlight at first, but feeling its warmth made him excited about this whole new world!
He was so awestruck by the environment around him that he only noticed the rainbows projected by his spikes when Cigryd made a comment about how cool it looked. Of course, his first reaction was to try and catch it, and he sure did stare at them til the sun went down that day.
how they discovered their inner rainbow:
When he started traveling with the party, a whole new world opened up to him, sort of literally. at first, he was quite scaredy and shy, hiding behind Tyrique most of the time, which is quite understandable. But with time, he got used to it.
Though if we were to ask him this same question, his answer would probably be about a particular night, him and his three friends sitting around the campfire when a giant bat came out of nowhere. Going by his experiences with them in his cave, he managed to get rid of it quite quickly, helping the party (well, helping anyone in general) for the first time in his life. It's been a few months since they met, but he has never felt more happier than when he saw his friends' surprised but grateful faces!
