Clear Storm - Warrior of Cinderclan

Meet Clear Storm

Clear Storm's life started out as a rouge. She was born in a broken family - two kits from feuding parents. A decision was made between her mother and father to for each to take one, and she was chosen by her father. From there, Clearkit learned the ways of a wild and lawless life from her father, though she always retained a gentleness of which the origin was hard to explain.

When she grew to the age of an apprentice, she was taught to fight by her father, a lesson of which would forever scar her in a literal and figurative sense. In their first match, he did not hold back. A swift strike across her chest tore flesh, leaving a large wound. Terrified and in shock, Clearpaw collapsed on the grass as her mind struggled to process what had happened. Above her, her father shouted at her to get up and fight back, proclaiming that wounds are a natural state of the wild land. The commotion drew the attention of a scout, and as the cat approached, her father began shouting at her to get up and run away with him. Eventually, he turned away and abandoned her, not wanting to be caught. Left in the grass wounded, Clearpaw was discovered and, with the help of another scout, was brought into the clan which would forever torment her darkest nightmares.

She was brought to the leader first, her injury taking second priority over rank. By luck, and genetics, the leader found favor in her for her beauty and ordered her to be taken immediately to the medicine den and for the medicine cat to heal her, or die. After a week in the medicine den, she was at last permitted to leave, a dark scar tainting the white and silver fur as the only remainder of the wound.

Clearpaw was given a mentor and learned the ways of life within the clan, as well as what her position would be. The leader had grown tired of his mate and viewed the kits they had as boring and not "worthy" of the high rank they were born into. By pure misfortune, Clearpaw had arrived as he was scanning the clan for his next mate and he had chosen her.

For a moment, she thought that perhaps the life of a leaders mate would not be so horrendous, after all his current mate was treated with honor and respect, but it was then that she discovered that the scar given to her by her father would doom her to a torturous life. She would be locked away in a den, never permitted to leave or see the forest, in order for the leader to hide the fact that his mate is scared. Her life would consist only of him, two guards, and numerous kits.

Fear set into her heart, and as she sat beside him and other high ranking cats, she asked him if she could walk the forest one last time before becoming his mate. He reluctantly agreed and sent his favorite young guard with her, Hidden Flame. They walked together, and Clear Storm risked it all in speaking honestly with the guard. To her great relief, she found a genuine friend in Hidden Flame, and the two began making plans to escape. As her time in the woods came to an end, they knew they had to return or be punished. Clear Storm said farewell to the forest, though in her heart she knew that Hidden Flame would find a way to help them escape. As they re-entered the clan, Clear Storm was ushered into the den her new mate intended to keep her in, and she curled up and dreamed of a peaceful life.

Five moons later, the day came. Hidden Flame had worked diligently and gained favor and trust from her leader to the point that she was entrusted with guarding Clear Storm's den. Late at night, when she knew all other guards would be in a position of which the den could not be seen, she acted.

She stood tall and reported to the other guard that there was a cat approaching, one she didn't recognize. The other guard stood to investigate and questioned her, but she promptly ordered him to go and investigate to keep the stranger from getting too close, claiming they were moving towards the leaders den. The other guard rushed off, trusting the high-ranking guard, and Hidden Flame looked back to Clear Storm with a smile. The two fled, rushing away from furious cats which pursued them and escaping in a field of tall, golden plants. Once the coast was clear, Hidden Flame led her away and into a new forest, the Great Forest, where Cinderclan was found.

Cedarstar, the leader, asked for their stories before deciding to invite them to the clan, and though Hidden Flame was hesitant and refused, Clear Storm insisted to be honest and told the she-cat of their stories. They were accepted, and both were given the roll of warrior. For the first time in her life, Clear Storm felt blissful freedom, free from fear and worry. That feeling, however, was short lived.

Three moons after their joyful residence, Clear Storm could not be found. Hidden Flame was livid with panic and rage, but calmed quickly after finding her only a few feet out of the clans territory. As her friend approached, the fear in Clear Storm's eyes was visible as she sat above her new litter. With a shared look, both she-cat's knew that he knew about them as well, and that now the treat of him coming to find them had grown even greater.
