Hi everyone,

Just a friendly reminder that everyone wants a kitten or puppy for Christmas...

That leaves adult cats and dogs overlooked. Many of these cats and dogs have been surrendered by loving homes that could no longer take care of them or just plain didn't want them. Many of them have already experienced a nice, warm Christmas at home and will be spending their first holiday season alone, confused, and sad. There are often wait-lists for puppies and kittens, while adult pets that are perfectly loving sit waiting for months and even years.

I guess I just wanted to recommend that you don't overlook adult pets. Sometimes they look skittish, uncomfortable, and unfriendly, but you'd be unfriendly too if you were abandoned! If you have a free spot in your family this Holiday Season and an open heart, go to your local shelter and give an adult animal a chance.

You might be surprised just how youthful they can be!

Oh, my heart. I have gotten all of my animals from a shelter. All but one has been a therapy animal. I love all of them and it always breaks my heart when I pass by the local shelter on my way to work. Thank you so much for doing this, as it spreads awareness.
