Did you guys know I love flannel? I seriously do.
I saw this really cute one earlier today while out at the store and it just made me want to make an adopt sporting some flannel.
So that's how the idea of this cutie came to be! <3 Sort of inspired by a paint horse palette also, because paints are beautiful imo <3

"Kaylee? Heavens, where are you?" Gray called through the tunnels, "This ice cave isn't that big!"

Kaylee giggled as she hid behind one of the pillars. Suddenly ice crept up her paws holding her in place and she squealed as Gray's face peered around the corner.

"Gotcha!" The ice slipped off her paws and she looks up at the viscet with a smile.

"You cheater. Using the ice like that!" She scolded the older viscet before sneezing. He frowned a bit and scooped her up.

"Oh come on, how do you cheat at hide and seek? Now, you should wear a jacket in this cold," He walked with her to the main chamber and sat her in front of the fire pit before rummaging through the trunk of clothes.

He frowned as he didn't find anything suitable and returned to the child, wrapping his own parka around her shoulders. He sat next to her, "Hey, you know what?"

She looked at him confused, "What?”

He rubbed his head as if he was thinking, "I think today is something special."

She giggled and grabbed his arm, "Hmm?”

He looked at her, "You know, I think today is someone's birthday."

She looked thrilled, "Mine?"

He looked at her, "No, mine!"

"Your birthday was a month ago." She pouted and he laughed a bit.

"Oh fine. I guess it is yours!" He chuckled and zipped the parka up around her small frame, "So why don't we go into town and pick out a gift?"

She jumped up excitedly, his parka coming down to her knees and he laughed a bit. He packed up a simple sled and sat her on it. He put Huli, his arctic fox into the sled with her and he curled up on her lap. He grabbed the rope and began to pull the sled towards the village. Once there, Gray maneuvered around the groups of people until they got to the store where he tied up the sled. He left Huli in the sled while the pair went in to shop.

The whole store, Kaylee and Gray walked the aisles and in each aisle, Kaylee shook her head. Nothing was grabbing her attention. As they were leaving to go try another store, Kaylee grabbed Gray’s arm and pulled him towards the clearance rack.

“Gray! Look!” She pulled out a red flannel jacket and looked up at him, “May I get this one?”

Gray laughed and nodded, glad that she had found something she wanted. Once purchased, she swapped into her new jacket, handing him his jacket back and then pranced around with the fox, giddy. Gray watched her in her brand new flannel jacket playing in the snow with the little white fox bounding around her legs.

He collected the sled and walked towards the two, “Come on kid! Let’s get home and I’ll make you some hot chocolate!”

Juniper woke up and lifted his head off his pillow, He looked out the window by his bed to see white stuff falling from the sky. Hopping up he walked over to the window and pulled it open, a cold bitter wind hit him in the face. Pokeing his head out he looked around, the entire field behind his home was covered in a thick blanket of this strange white stuff.

Closing his window he walked downstairs and open the front door and walked outside.. as his paws hit the cold ground he blinked.. dropping down to all fours he sniffed the cold white stuff. ~what is this? is this snow?~ He thought looking around.

He has lived in the city all his life, recently he had gotten a home for himself in the mountains, never had he seen snow in the city. shivering he ran back inside. remembering the previous owner had left a trunk of old clothes he walked into the basement to find it.

Upon finding the chest he pulled it open and dug through it, he found a flannel jacket, Pulling it on he returned outside. Taking a few steps farther this time he looked up in amazement at the land before him.

Tree's had snow piled up in their branches.. the ground was completely white. everything was so calm and peaceful. He smiled softly and continued walking through the quite land After a few moments, he returns home he found his old Camera and walked back outside. He took some pictures to send to his mother.

Smiling he took the Camera back inside, fixing himself a cup of Juniper berry tea with Honey he sat by the window and watched the snow continue to fall. ~ It's just a Perfect day~ He thought smiling.

She threw her coat over her shoulders as she left the cozy comfort of the heated farmhouse. Stepping into a frozen landscape, fully covered in white, she let out a deep sigh, her breath visibly rising into the bright morning air.
Winter was a beauty to behold; nonetheless, Arizona had ever disliked the coldest season of the year. If it was for her, she would rather live somewhere warm, all year long; but instead, she was stuck here.
Here was a farmhouse, idly tucked in between high mountains, deep valleys and neverending forests. Meadows as far as the eye could see, right now covered in a thick layer of snow, the livestock digging into it, searching for the last blades of grass, buried under a soft pillow that was only to melt in spring again.
As Arizona crossed the snowed-in pathway, the cattle was watching her every step and the horses were calling after her. She would feed them later on; right now, however, she needed to get into town and get her share of meals for the next few days.
She disliked going there, especially during holiday season, when everything was beautifully decorated and brightly lit. The truth was: she hated Christmas, as it reminded her of the fact, that she was all alone. Sure, she had her cattle and the sheep and the horses; but none of them were the right company to celebrate with.
Trying to get her mind off the subject of being alone, she let her eyes wander through the forest, while her feet carried her on. The sun was peeking through the trees, making the untouched snow glitter. A stag was watching her cautiously, as she passed by and although the forest was full of life, it was wonderfully silent - except for the soft whimper of a lost pup, hiding behind a rock.
As soon as Arizona heard and recognized the sound, she hurried to investigate and found a small wolf, wounded by a hunter's trap. There was no way, she would leave him here, so she took off her coat, picked the wolf up and brought it back to her farmhouse, where she nursed it back to health.
Three weeks later, just two days before Christmas, the wolf pup had gotten stronger and bigger. He was a fierce thing with sharp teeth and an unhealthy amount of curiosity. And Arizona had fallen in love; all of a sudden, the winter holidays looked bright and promising.
She thought about getting into town to buy him a present. Maybe, just maybe, she would even get a Christmas tree. Now that she had someone to share everything with, it seemed to make sense.
And for the first time in years, she felt genuinely happy. Finding this sweet pup was the best thing, that had ever happened to her. Therefore, she had named him Theo - a gift from god.

Laughter filled the night air with happiness as fluffy snow flew through the air. Hiding behind a mound of snow Sparrow peaked over the top of it trying to find Minato. She giggled as she saw that his face was covered in snow from her last snowball. Trying her best to stay quiet, she crept around behind him and waited.

Minato shook his head and laughed, Sparrow always loves to have a snowball fight. Cleaning the snow off his muzzle he looked up at the mound where the snowball had come from. "Come on Sparrow, no more snowballs! You know I am not a fan of getting my fur wet. " Minato walked over the mound of snow she had been hiding behind and looked on the other side. Seeing where she had been, now empty he sighed but a small smile tugged at the corners of her mouth. He turned back around as another snowball whizzed through the falling snow hitting him once again in the face.

Laughing Sparrow peaked out from her hiding space "Ha Ha Minato I got you again. Minato shook the snow from himself once again and narrowed his eyes at her. With a quick smile and a flick of his wrist he threw a large snowball at her. It landed directly on her chest with a solid thump, covering Sparrow and her fluffy jacket with snow. " Hey!! Minato!!" Sparrow threw a glare at him and dusted the snow off of herself. " Not fair I wasn't ready!" Minato huffed " Right just like I wasn't ready either but you still threw not one but two snowballs at my face!" Sparrow smirked "psshh well it was funny"

Minato just shook his head at her. "Come on let's go in and warm up." Sparrows eyes lit up " Hot Chocolate and a good fire to read next to!?" Minato laughed " Yes of course now come on!" Together the pair went back to the small house that they share. Once inside Minato took Sparrows jacket and hung it up by the fireplace to dry. Together they made hot chocolate with tiny little marshmallows that floated on the top. Minato got some wood from outside and made a bright and warm fire. Sparrow went and grabbed one of the many books from her room along with a soft blanket and a small pillow then she went over to her favorite place to sit in the living room and possibly the house, her window seat. Looking out at the snow with her cheeks red from being out in the cold she got under her blanket, put the pillow behind her and took a sip of hot chocolate ready to disappeared into the world her book created.

I think one of my favourite memories of the winter is when I was younger and my family took me ice skating for the first time on a nearby frozen lake. I had done a few lessons with school every now and then in an arena, but I was still fairly new to ice skating. The day we went, it was lightly snowing and the ground had a decent amount of snow on it. Otherwise, the sky was relatively clear and I remember pulling up to the area in the car and having to walk down a steep slope. At the bottom was the lake where it was clear a few others were also getting ready to skate. Once we got our equipment on, we cleared away the snow from a small area closer to shore and began skating. Everything went pretty well besides falling here or there, but I was quite worried about if the ice was frozen enough since every movie I've ever seen always had the ice break. Luckily the ice was completely fine, and we were able to skate with the other family that was there as well. We actually became good friends with them and they shared their hot chocolate with us afterwards. I feel like this is one of my favourite memories simply because it's how I picture the holidays should be; spending time with my family and making the best of the winter.
